They pride themselves in being a gourmet, sustainable cafe, open from Friday to Wednesday, 8 am - 2 pm and the only beachfront cafe on the Great Ocean Road. HAH is within walking distance from the Mantra Lorne, the camping grounds and local shops. Located adjacent to Lorne Beach, surrounded by the Lorne Sea Baths, a skatepark, playground, amenities and the Lorne Anzac Memorial Park; makes for a perfect cafe setting. Inside has limited seating, and the exterior is spread out to cater for COVID restrictions, or you can sit on the sand. ‘HAH’ stands for Health & Hire and is not just a cafe but sells an eclectic choice of healthy lifestyle food and drinks made in house and sourced locally. Their menu consists of a smorgasbord of healthy options such as gourmet toasted jaffle sandwiches, bowls of smoothie goodness or super juices, the usual hot/cold drinks and yogurt soft serve. Not only this but you will find a range of eco-friendly products such as hats, organic deodorants, bento boxes, shopping bags and other groovy knickknacks. There is the ability to hire a quiver or soft surfboard, bodyboards, SUPs for all ability levels. A great place to break up a long beach walk, in a super chilled environment with friendly staff. Recommendations Yogurt soft-serve - great on a hot day. Take away coffee - Ocean Grind Blend.

This is definitely a germ in this area. Their slow cooked Pork jaffle is the best, very tasty. Slow cooked beef jaffle also very nice too. Cooked to perfection. Dirty golden drink is very unique, cannot be found in Melbourne. Coffee is high quality, this cafe used very good coffee beans. Limited seating inside but plenty outside. Outside seating is very pretty too, full view of the sea. Staff are very friendly. Plenty of parking nearby. Located on main road, very convenient.

Love the vibe here. The seats and beanbags are great, the interior is really well decorated and the food is quite creative. I'd probably only comment that the Super Muesli may need a few more berries to counteract the sourness of the greek yogurt. I received a grand total of 8 blueberries in my bowl and I'd have liked a couple of handfuls more, even if they had come from a frozen pack. Still, would definitely recommend, especially the smoothies.

Hired a board here with my husband paid $30 each for 2 hour hire. Went to surf and the ankle strap was so worn that it kept coming off in the surf. I was getting smashed by waves trying to constantly put it back on and it was tangling up around me. So dangerous. Ended up giving up and taking the board back after only an hour of hire. Told who I suspect was the owner what was happening and he just said thanks for letting me know. Didn’t offer any resolution or reimbursement after paying for equipment that was faulty. I wouldn’t recommend hiring a board from this place. If you want board hire go to Lorne Surf Shop. The lady there told me it’s $20 for full day hire and the boards looked much better quality. Disappointing experience.

*responding to owners comment.

I returned back an hour before the end of hire and let the owner know what was happening. No resolution was offered. Just because I didn’t eat or stay here does not mean I can’t review the service or equipment I purchased. If you want to maintain a great review score support all your customers. Not just the ones that...

we ordered two matchas at this cafe, as both of us are matcha lovers, the price being $22 total. the lady at the counter was very rude and not welcoming whatsoever. i asked if they had lactose free milk and it was an immediate “no”, that was very harsh. i opted for oat milk which i never mind paying extra for. however, $22 for two iced matchas is ridiculous. so, i expected them to taste amazing, but when got given them by a kind young blonde girl, they were very light green and it tasted like the worst matcha i’ve ever very had. i had heard the rude lady at the counter make the matcha and ask a coworker “how much matcha to add?” and they added barely anything. we could taste way more milk than matcha. the vibe of the cafe was nice and the views were gorgeous. however, i won’t be coming back or recommending it to anyone...
