If youโre looking for THE BEST CAFE IN MELBOURNE (and I think in Australia) itโs right here!!!
Matt and Marcell (bro & sis team) are actual Melbournian natives that began this amazing coffee shop, serving the Nth Melbourne community since 11 years ago!
This is actually very rare to find nowadays.
Native Melbournians running a Melbourne Local Cafe.
Which explains why everything they do is on point!!!!
โ Customer Service They (and their team) actually say hello to you with a smile, and try to remember your name for the next time they see you. And if they have time, have a friendly chat with you. This was so refreshing and appreciated to finally experience the old school way of humanising.
โ Coffee The quality and consistency is just ๐๐๐๐๐ I highly recommend trying their Dirty Chai โ๏ธ in Large.
โ Food Literally just ๐๐๐๐๐their food matches their price point, their portions are perfect, and they actually serve their breakfast dishes with TWO slices of bread, not one! What great chefs and cooks they must have.
โ Ambience & Vibe Located inside a pre-loved warehouseโexposed brick and beams, high ceilings (which is great for thinning), AMPLE space and tables tooโฆ you can actually chill out, enjoy your food, and BREATHE here. You donโt feel cramped or rushed like smaller cafes. And I love their executive/office rooms where you can hire out for meetings and eat at the same time!
โ Bathrooms Fresh & clean
This place is really a hidden gem of Melbourne that more locals and travellers need to discover, and Iโm glad I found it.
Highly recommend their entire menuโand itโs a great workspace for writers too.
10 Stars...
ย ย ย Read moreRecently while traveling in Australia I was lucky to stumble across this wonderful cafe.
As you walk by you canโt help but be drawn in by the smells of coffee and fresh baked goodies. Once inside you find so much more than just coffee and baked goods.
The uniqueness and beauty of this cafe is one of a kind and nothing like Iโve ever found in America. You walk inside this converted warehouse not quite sure what to expect and what you see is rustic beauty. So modern but so homey. The pallet couches, vaulted ceilings and warm wood throughout was so welcoming.
The menu had so many different choices but I went with the Waffle Stack, talk about heaven in your mouth. Mmmmm. It was like eating your favorite ice cream sundae with bonus toppings on top of the most dleicious waffle Iโve ever had anywhere.
The staff was so kind and friendly and let me know about so great spots to check out on my visit to Australia. It was so nice to hear the story of the family owned business and how they came up with the concept of Ample Cafe.
I left feeling both full in my belly and my soul. I left with a coffee in hand and plans to return before my trip ended, not just to try their amazing burgers but to also enjoy the staff and the atmosphere...
ย ย ย Read moreFirst time here.... Had the Ample breakie $20.... hmmmm small piece of sour dough not buttered... spinach and mushrooms soaked in salt water not edible. Bacon not crisp... sweated to almost seemed steamed..hashbrown.. how do you get this wrong?? Too dry on one side and the other seemed to be soaked in oil!! Egg which I asked for scrambled was ok. Not great but heck it's scrambled and edible. sausage I think was the highlight!! yep the spicy sausage fried in pan is the best bit of the whole thing??
mgt CHANGE YOUR COOK!!! Or pay more attention to the pan!! come on I'm not expecting a chef hat here!! But this stuff is simple!!
The barramundi on the lunch special barramundi was fresh but I have my doubts about the quality of the tomatoe sauce.. smelt sour to a point where it could be off?? We left it and ate the fish only ... YMMV my experience only
oh btw it's self serve here!! you have to get your own cutlery etc... either that or service is lousy!!! we were given menus when we sat down expecting table service... but alas was not meant to...
