Shocked at how this place is still functional. I am giving this 1 star review after what I have experienced there a few times and all the times the issues have been raised with the owner/manager in past(everytime he would just shrug his shoulders off). A few things - The manager/owner of this place is rude and totally inconsiderate and has no head or tail clue of how serious is a dietary requirement for anyone. He is unfriendly and to top it up rude. Most of the time he behaves as he doesn't want you there. More so with a few nationalities. It seems he has some issue there. Food - We had specifically requested for a fried rice without egg/meat/seafood as I am highly allergic to seafood and egg. When I got the order the rice had egg in it. When I raised the issue with the manager he straight away put the blame on me. He said 'I never mentioned ANYTHING'. I told him that I specifically mentioned that I do not want any egg/meat/seafood in my food. The manager did replace it but with a very grumpy face. The food options on the menu mentions "Vegetarian" but is cooked using chicken stock/oyster sauce etc. How is this vegetarian? Is Oyster sauce vegetarian for a dietary requirement? Why would one have it in vegetarian section? Take away order - the take away orders are given out without absolutely any cutlery or paper napkins. For my order yesterday I had to ask for the fork and paper napkins for which the manager in an extremely rude way told me, "Check bag it inside. Check Check check properly." I was only given the paper napkins and cutlery with a very heavy heart by the owner/manager. Inconsistency - the food is inconsistent. One can never be assured that what you ordered last time, will be the same thing this time. I can imagine a little bit of difference but a totally different product is unacceptable. The quantity and quality of food is inconsistent. The quality is going down...
Read moreUnfortunately IAm forced to rate 1/5 and give a score.Apon sitting down I discussed with a waitress that I have severe food allergies and can not eat onion and garlic - fresh, or in powdered form .Can I eat at this restaurant, are there any allergy options available.? Let my family know before we order or best we all eat elsewhere. I was told to choose a meal and it will be checked with the chef and made fresh. I wanted plain roast duck steamed jasmine rice, no added sauce or salt or pepper or fresh or garlic as in vegetable stock, please" i asked no sauce just very plain." my meal arrives covered in a glaze. I take one bite. I call the waitress asking what is in this sauce it was Oyster sauce and plum, both ingredients raise issues with a fructose malabsorption. And contains garlic She says I will bring you one without sauce. She checked again no onion and garlic listed in the ingredients it is safe to eat.By now after that one bite I am running to the toilet to throw up .She brings the same meal with the sauce removed off the surface ,It is safe to eat. I am told. I did not eat .She arrives to announce. the duck is marinated in fresh garlic and to choose another meal ,she gave me a vegetables noodle stir fry to compensate .Iwas not confident to eat this as my gums and throat were already itching .I went home to throw up again. Food Allergy suffers STAY AWAY not worth the risk .NEVER AGAIN ...
Read moreZERO for service, but 0 stars is not available. The food is below mediocre with few exceptions. Two examples as follows: we ordered special fried rice with shrimp and barbecue pork. Well! I managed to find a shrimp and the pork was so finely chopped that most probably equated to half a slice of pork. . The mixed vegetables consisted of about five beans and a leafy vegetable plus two or three pieces of what looked like bok choy, smothered by the worst oyster sauce I have had the misfortune to taste. The spring rolls were the highlight of the meal, but that's not saying a lot considering. Enough about the food. Service: Six plates with napkins and cutlery piled on top dumped on the table for us to distribute. NO CONDIMENTS on the table! Food showed up randomly. Waited for around fifteen minutes, no one showed up with menus, so one of us got up to get them. Our mains came out before our entree! The food was of a very poor standard. There are hundreds of Chinese restaurants in Melbourne, good and bad. This one ranks among the worst. I do not enjoy giving bad reviews, but when I waste my time and money on below average food, I do get a...
