Plenty valley - dinner Our last experience which was many years ago wasn't that great but we gave it another try as there is no other dosa place around here.
Positives Dosa was good. I personally don't like the masala in the masala dosa but others did. Cheese and chilli dosa was good too. Vada was good
Negatives Idli and Vada with no sambar? Every other dosa place offers coconut chutney and sambar as standard yet this place gave chutney and some tomato/ginger chutney
The idli was stale, re heated in a microwave
The coconut chutney - that was shocking. I have never had anything as such anywhere. It was watery like soup. Just stick to the standard coconut chutney, why add peanuts to the point where it overpowers the flavour. Secondly, no mention that it contains peanut. What if someone was allergic. A lawsuit waiting to happen
Chicken Tikka Masala the gravy was very minimal no flavour in it. The ready to eat packs from coles have more flavour quality of chicken was poor, fat all over it
The chairs were uncomfortable unless you sat in the booth.
Also, I feel this business loses upsell revenue through their ordering system. I would have ordered a few more items if a waiter came over to ask me if I needed anything else. Having to get up from your chair mid meal to go place an order is annoying and so is using your phone with food on your hands to order
Overall, the perspective I walked away was the business is cutting corners to save costs and it shows in their quality. If I return it will be because I am desperate for a Dosa but then the thought of that coconut chutney might change my mind. Would stay away from ordering anything else
Please improve the quality of your food and rest will take care of itself.
Any other decent Dosa makers - if you manage to open a restaurant nearby then I expect this...
Read moreComing back from work after a long tiring day, picked up an order for my dinner on 18/10/2021 at around 8:30 PM. I was really hungry and craving for some indo chinese. The order was triple schezwan non veg. When I got back home and opened my order it was a veg one. I called Dosa Hut Plenty Valley and explained them the situation, they accepted their mistake and said that by mistake they gave me the veg one. But the disappointing fact was, they got no solution for their mistake, the girl who picked up the call just kept on saying we will do the correct order next time.I requested either to get my order delivered or process me the refund. They asked me to pick up the order again which I can't do because of the curfew hours and neither I had the strength left to pick up my order again. The girl on the phone just kept on putting me on hold after every few minutes and comes back saying that they will do the correct order next time. I got really frustrated with their attitude. After putting me on hold for the last time, she came back and asked my account details for the refund and told me that it will be processed in half an hour. I gave her the details and call ended. No refund has been received yet till next day. Worst customer service I have ever came across, food was not that great either. Please avoid if you can, because if you get the order wrong they...
Read moreI’m here to tell you the food is dramatically improved. My wife (Tamil Singapore) and I dined here today for lunch. We had traditional starter wadi, and non traditional chicken noodles and chicken fried rice. The noodles was a smoky fried chicken was simply a great balance of dry cooked noodles with savory salty and sour flavors. The same fried chicken in stir fried long grain rice with vegetables. Again delicious. The sambar and coconut dipping sauce was fragrant and delicious. The tamarind a sweeter spicier concoction. All these dishes were brilliant. Nothing out of place. Service was warm and friendly. I hope you get the same chef we had today.
Second visit 26/7 Had chicken tikka, plain and masala dosa, egg fried rice, butter chicken dosa, plain and garlic naan. Drinks were jeera salted lassi, mango lassie, and masala tea. Too much food for four adults and a nine year old. The chicken tikka was a bit too salty for my taste. The garlic naan was perfect, and the egg fried rice a good bbq fried flavor yet quite plain. The three dips with the dosa, sambar, chutney and coconut were ok. On another note, can someone please fix the front door that slams sooooooooooooooooo loudly. Please repair it....
