Update: Back again to try other dishes: Bun Moc - clear broth with vermicelli, home made meatballs, sliced pork and pickled bamboo shoots. The broth was tasty, well rounded and balanced. The meatballs contained chopped wood ear fungus and the bamboo shoots were great - no distinctive bamboo shoot notes. Cha Ca La Vong - fish cooked well. Good dish. Generous portions of fish. The shrimp sauce was good - not as “funky” as I thought. Good service. Food arrived promptly despite being very busy on a Friday night.
First Visit: Seeing their patrons having some interesting dishes piqued our curiosity. We were recommended to try their:
Nem Nuong Nha Trang - grilled meatballs with rice paper rolls - the dipping sauce was unusual. It looked “curdly”. Mildly flavoured, “peanutty” with some mince meat in it. It was rather bland and the rolls/dipping sauce needed some fish sauce. Overall fresh tasting wrapped rolls with their salad accompaniments.
Bo La Lot Nuong - grilled beef in betel leaves on rice vermicelli - the dipping sauce was mildly sweet with a touch of tang and fish sauce. It went well with the beef. The beef was not juicy but not overly dry either.
Service was helpful, polite and friendly. Well priced portions,...
Read moreDecided to check this restaurant out for lunch. We ordered the crispy chicken and Vermicelli pork and spring roll salad and enjoyed it a lot. Salad tasted clean and fresh with the sauce not being too overly sweet or powering. The crispy chicken was cooked well with the meat being tender and the outside being crispy.
We found that their menu was different compared to your typical Vietnamese place that consist of pho, vermicelli salads and dish with rice selection.
Their sauces that we usually see like chilly in oil, pickled onion and the standard sauces at a pho place was not there, but I’m guessing this would be because they are not a pho focused restaurant.
Parking is off street parking which can be a bit tricky. Definitely can accommodate to pram space which is a bonus.
It looks like a family owned establishment, which gives a chilled really relaxed nothing fancy laid back environment.
The prices averaged from $18+ for things on the menu but the portions a very generous. They also offer vegan options. I’ll definitely go back and try some different dishes that I don’t usually see at a Vietnamese...
Read moreWe had such a great experience at Anh Tuk in Footscray. The food was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. We ordered the “Bò Né Anh Tuk,” “Bún Chả Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm,” and “Trứng Non Xào Me.”
The Bò Né Anh Tuk was the standout — the beef was tender and juicy, served sizzling hot with perfectly cooked eggs and sides that made it a super satisfying meal. It had that classic street-style feel with a modern twist, and it really hit the spot.
The Bún Chả Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm was packed with bold, authentic flavour. I especially loved the offal — it was cooked perfectly and added great texture and depth to the dish. Combined with the crispy tofu, juicy pork, and punchy mắm tôm, it was a flavour bomb.
Also, do yourself a favour and order the coconut juice with kumquat — it was so refreshing and delicious. Highly recommend!
Service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back to explore more...
