This has got to be one of the BEST places that we have been to for wood fired pizza. I am not joking when I say there were SO MANY people in the restaurant and we definitely understand why. The hype is definitely real and the pizza was definitely delicious. We ordered: Risotto ai Funghi ($32.5) - My partner says this is the best risotto he has had in a while and he enjoyed it heaps. Carbonara pizza ($27.5) - We had a really good one at Flour Child and wanted to see if this could beat it and it 100% was better. It was so good and had so much flavour. It has the sharpness of the cheese and I just think about it a lot. Spicy Pepperoni ($30.5) - This was heaped with pepperoni and it didn’t have too much spice but just enough so you can get a tingle. Broccolini Griliati ($16.5) - Definitely yummy, can’t go wrong with grilled broccolini. Patate Fritte ($13.5) - Loved the fries and the aioli sauce that came with it. Hot chocolate ($4.5) - This was needed for the cold night because I was freezing. Amaretto sour - it was so pretty to look at and pretty good too. Honestly, we couldn’t fault anything that we ordered, everything was so good and nothing was amiss. I liked that there were blankets in the outside area because it was a bit chilly and the blankets were a nice touch for comfort.

4.7 The immediate thing that struck Twosheds about Baby was the fitout. Inviting, warm and welcoming. The smell of great pizza wafting out of this joint is fantastic. Owned by the people who are the provenance of Chin Chin and Hawker Hall, this place is - like the others - super hip. The clientele is young, sophisticated and attractive. We turned up here at 9.30pm on a Thursday; warmly greeted by the staff, we were seated promptly and ordered. The wine list is extremely serviceable for a joint like this. We ordered Yarra Valley Jumping Creek Pinot. $65 is great value. Great selection of Italian wines. We ordered pizza, papardelle, calamari (grilled), ragu penne pasta and some sides. Oh my lordie (and Twosheds is not religious) food here is fantastic. The meatball and Passata pizza had that certain zing which was inescapable. Ragu pasta was similar. The perfectly char grilled calamari was served on a bed of olive tapenade with rocket. This was beautiful. Even the side of chips was best practice. Staff are just fantastic here. Excellent recommendations. There are even piped language lessons in the toilet while you’re relieving yourself - Spanish and Italian! Go here!

We recently dined at Baby Pizza, and I must say it was a rather eventful evening. We visited on World Pasta Day, and the restaurant was abuzz with activity. Surprisingly, it appeared busier than our previous visit. We were seated at the bar, which was rather cozy. We were anticipating some interaction or perhaps a culinary show between the chefs behind the counter and the patrons, but, unfortunately, there was a noticeable lack of such engagement. It would be a nice touch if the chefs working on the pasta could entertain the patrons at the bar, while the salad and pizza chefs could work more discreetly. When it comes to the service, our experience was a mix. The receptionist was exceptionally welcoming, setting a positive tone for our meal. However, there's room for improvement in the service department. The waitresses, in particular, seemed to need more training as they occasionally banged dishes in front of us. A more graceful approach could significantly enhance the overall dining experience. We also encountered a somewhat peculiar situation when we ordered wine by the glass, but one waitress suggested we should have a full bottle instead. It felt as though asking for a pint of beer resulted in a recommendation to order the whole barrel, which was a bit pushy. Additionally, one of the waitresses was persistently seeking feedback on our food while we were still dining. We politely requested that she allow us to complete our meal before discussing the food further. The evening started on a high note with a beautiful glass of Shiraz from the Heathcote region, setting the tone for a delightful meal. For our entree, we ordered the Crudo do Tonno, a dish featuring Yellow Fin Tuna crudo with chili, capers, and lemon oil. Unfortunately, the dish didn't quite meet our expectations. It seemed to lack the zesty touch of lime or lemon that could have balanced the fishy scent. The flavors weren't as harmoniously infused as we've experienced with other crudo or ceviche dishes at different restaurants. This aspect led to a deduction in our overall rating. Moving on to the mains, the Duck Ragu served with tagliatelle stood out as probably the best dish of the evening. The rich flavors and perfectly cooked duck ragu made this dish a highlight. We also tried the Calamarata al gamberi, featuring calamarata pasta with prawns, tomatoes, and chili. The sauce was superb, but the pasta was undercooked. Both dishes were thoughtfully presented. Our choice of a side dish was Brussels sprouts with Cabo Lo Nero, lemon, and mint. While the taste was delightful, the presentation left much to be desired, as it was described as "ugly." There is a clear opportunity for the restaurant to enhance the presentation of this dish to match its delicious taste. The evening concluded with a flat white and tiramisu, providing a fitting end to our dining experience. In summary, Baby Pizza offers a vibrant atmosphere and some commendable dishes, with the Duck Ragu standing out. However, there are areas for improvement, particularly in service and dish execution. While the entree missed the mark, and the side dish's presentation could be enhanced, it was an enjoyable dining experience overall.

ORDERED: 🧆 Cacio e pepe arancini with black garlic aioli (4 pieces) ($23.50) 🍝 Rigatoni al ragu: Rigatoni with braised beef ragu ($37.50) 🍝 Tagliolini al granchio: Tagliolini, spanner crab, chilli, lemon ($39.50) It was $81.67 for my portion, which included a 15% public holiday surcharge! REVIEW: 👍 The arancini and pasta at baby pizza was pretty good. Arancini is a great starter! Cacio e pepe flavoured, it's simple but packs a punch. Especially when the arancini was wonderfully crunchy and addictive! 💥 The rigatoni had delicious, fork tender pieces of beef. The sweetness of the tomatoes came through real subtle here as well! The portion size was prefect, as well as the complimentary dousing of parmesan cheese. 🧀 The tagliolini al granchio, quoting my friend, "the perfect summer pasta". I couldn't agree more! There were little torn up pieces of spanner crab, scattered within the tagliolini in a refreshing chilli and lemon sauce combo. My friend was right on the nose. 🍋 The pizza had great leopard spotting from what I could see. However, from what I tasted, the centre was a little wet where the were toppings sliding off. +1 to what others have mentioned on google. 😢 ❌ The thing that bothered me the most was the Lucas group dinesmart donation. It's an automatic $2 applied on top of your bill - but we asked for it to be taken off. We confirmed it was off on the printed bill we received. I should've double checked the EFTPOS machine, but the $2 was added back on when I was looking at my transactions 🤣😭. What's the point of having the option to request it to be taken off?!

Date of visit: 26/11/22 Me and my partner chose Baby Pizza for an impromptu "date-night'. Being on a Saturday night, we appreciated being seated promptly by the friendly host. Upon browsing the menu, we decided to choose the "FEED ME" option as to try a range of their dishes because it's our first time dining here. DRINKS: Aperol Spritz & Strawberry/Rhubarb Spritz, both 10/10 FOOD: Rosemary Foccacia 8/10 Salumi platter 5/10 Melanzane pizza 9/10 Prawn Pasta 9/10 Steak 7/10 Arugula salad 6/10 Tiramisu 10/10 It was our first time having the tube style prawn pasta so it was a really fun new experience. Overall the food was ok, maybe needs a bit of invigorating to make it a bit more contemporary to match the ambience/location and pricing Also the tiramisu was great and not so sweet which gave the other components of the dessert a chance to shine. Other Notes: All the staff were really good at providing service and were really professional. There was a slight mix up with our food when we brought another salumi plate which we already had as a starter but the friendly staff fixed the issue with no hesitation. Special thanks to the gentleman who seated us and also offered to move us inside when the weather turned extreme.

This is one of my favourite places for pizza/pasta and a wine, I have been many times. I was really disappointed yesterday in the quality of the food. We ordered a lasagne and did not eat it but for a bite or two to taste. It was soggy, tasteless and really disappointing. We were also seated the four of us at a table with no ability to fit, we had to push our table up against the next one and I feel for the guests on the next table who had to see us lean all over their table to get to the seat. The waitress was good so no issues there. If going stick to a pizza and wine and don’t allow yourself to be wedged in like we were. It’s is not relaxing or enjoyable. Having left an almost entire lasagne, perhaps the restaurant should check to understand why. My son also left his beef ragu sauce after picking out the pasta (normally another of my favourites) it just wasn’t the same standard I’ve known to come and love. Weirdly the table next to us sent their short blacks back - maybe it was a bad night. I have had as I said at the beginning great experiences there before. Would I bring an international guest there as I did last night? No not again. Consistency and a proper casual dining experience is needed.
