This is not a negative review.
During a recent visit to a A25, I had a mixed experience that encompassed both positive and negative aspects. Here's an honest review of my time at the establishment:
Positives:
The service at the pizzeria was excellent. The staff members were attentive, polite, and responsive to our needs. They made sure we felt welcomed and attended to throughout our visit, which greatly enhanced the overall dining experience. The location was fantastic. Situated in a convenient spot, it was easily accessible and had a pleasant ambiance. The cozy and inviting atmosphere added to the enjoyment of the meal. In terms of the food, while it may have been average overall, it still had some decent qualities. The pizza, while not exceptional, was still satisfying and had good flavor. It may not have stood out as the best pizza I've ever had, but it certainly fulfilled its purpose as a decent meal option. The pricing of the food was reasonable. Considering the quality of the dishes and the level of service provided, the prices were fair and affordable. This factor contributed to the overall value for money.
Negatives:
Unfortunately, one of the male servers was not very friendly or welcoming. It's possible that they were under a lot of pressure, especially if it was a busy Saturday night. It is to be noted he was not our server and just showed us the table. He didn’t even turn on table heater for us. Our server was a lovely young lady who is amazing. She got the heater running and got water for our table before taking the order. The pizza arrived at our table not as hot as expected. It seemed that the delay was due to the kitchen staff waiting for the lasagna to be ready, which they intended to serve together. While it's understandable to want to bring out all the mains together, it would have been preferable to have the pizza served piping hot. Personally, the carbonara lasagna didn't quite match my taste preferences. However, taste is subjective, and what didn't appeal to me may still be enjoyed by others. It's essential to note that this is solely my personal opinion, and there may be many who appreciate and...

OCT 2022: nice atmosphere and perfect spot for a walk in quick dinner, hard to find on chapel st. food was delicious and came out super fast! most staff were of non-english speaking background and seemed to be training (as one mentioned it was her first shift) so some ordered items were incorrect/forgotten but this was immediately rectified and completely understandable! the nutella tiramisu, not your usual kind, very dense cakey and thick cream, but DEEELICIOUS! super indulgent, must try. oh the pizza is banging...
Read moreI tagged along with a blogger who was invited to try the Bomba dessert, along with some main items. There's no way she could have eaten the food by herself, so as a friend, I stepped up and helped her.
But enough about how amazing I am as a person.... the top end of Chapel Street doesn't get the attention that the Windsor end does, but there are some good options on the South Yarra end if you don't feel like wandering down Chapel.
There's a few A25's in Melbourne so you know what you're going to get. Decent pizza and pasta. They seem to have a "Pizza is Sexy" slogan peppered throughout the premises, along with the Sophia Loren photos, and the hot pinks and kermit greens that pop throughout the premises - the interior sways between brash and fun. You know you're not going to a regular pizza joint.
We started off with some Summer Spritz cocktails served in a 'sexy' glass - a nice refreshing start.
We shared the mushroom pappardelle, capricosa pizza and the bomba. I enjoyed the flavours of the pappardelle, although the pasta was a bit bitey. The pizza was tasty and well topped.
The main reason my friend was invited was to try the Bomba dessert, which is basically a nutella and strawberry pizza with six cannoli's on top. This desert is for sharing - I recommend that six people can probably eat this for a dessert. The cannoli's themselves were very delicious, and I'd be happy to have them on its own. With six cannoli's on top the dessert pizza, it was probably a bit much for two people.
That said, A25 has a good vibe. Clean, vibrant, great staff. A good option when you want a mid priced sit down meal with a...
