Decent venue and staff but overall disappointed.
Advertised as the place to watch football but firstly we had to specifically ask for the screen to be turned over for it and there was no audio commentary. Just the house music playing, so not really a football atmosphere. Advertised for $5 pints of Furphy until 10pm but the venue started closing at about 9:30pm? Nobody even announced a last call. There is nothing in your advertising to say "until 10pm OR until bar closes if earlier". So the advert gives the impression you are open no matter how many people are or aren't in the venue. There's a small "T's and C's apply" message but honestly if you think it's reasonable that patrons should download a lengthy PDF to read prior to visiting ANY bar, you're living in cuckoo land. How is it not reasonable to have that particular expectation set up front explicitly without leaving it to interpretation anyway?
The game was still set to continue after 10pm as well so with the venue closing we needed to relocate to another venue. How can you advertise as a place to watch the game then expect patrons to leave before it finishes? The only saving grace was that our team was crushing it and the result was beyond a doubt but that's not really the point.
Staff were friendly enough and probably wanted to go home early but again that's besides the point. Ironically because people were ordering cocktails and there was generally only one staff member manning the bar (when you were still serving) there was often a decent queue forming to buy drinks. Even for us that just wanted a simpler drinks order. I didn't check if the $5 pint was available on the QR code though so if it was then that is on me not to have checked. Might have been helpful if staff could have mentioned the QR code (if the offer was available through QR that is, if not then it's a moot point). The Furphy keg also ran out/wasn't working so staff were kind enough to offer us Furphy Crisp. No complaints from us about that but I can't really vouch for other punters who might not like FC and was just another thing to add to the overall problems encountered.
Overall, again, you advertised as the place to watch the football and take our money but delivered a thoroughly underwhelming experience. I get that it's a Thursday night but you were also taking bookings for the bottomless footy fest so again there was absolutely nothing to say that we should have expected it to be any different (because why would you advertise for that then expect people to leave before it finishes?).
If it's going to be an inferior/limited experience just because it's on a Thursday evening (which is what I'm assuming is the reason as I can't think of anything else) then please don't advertise it at all in future.
Appreciate any changes you can make for future punters not to have the same...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Ballers Clubhouse in Carlton, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best spots I’ve found in the area! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the vibe – it’s the perfect blend of sleek, modern design and laid-back comfort. Whether you're coming for a casual hangout, a special event, or just looking for something fun and different, this place has it all.
The atmosphere is electric but not overwhelming, and the staff is top-notch – friendly, attentive, and clearly dedicated to making your experience unforgettable. I especially want to shout out the bar supervisor, who truly stands out. She runs the show like a pro—quick, efficient, and always with a smile. Whether you're asking for a recommendation, customizing a drink, or just enjoying the atmosphere, she makes sure everything runs smoothly and that you feel taken care of. It’s clear she knows her stuff and genuinely enjoys her work, which makes all the difference in creating a welcoming vibe.
The menu is packed with delicious options, and everything I tried was bursting with flavor. It’s clear that they put a lot of thought and care into their offerings, and I can’t wait to go back and try even more.
One of the coolest features of Ballers Clubhouse is the ball pit – yes, you read that right! It’s not every day you get to take a break from the usual and dive into a giant pit of colorful balls. It’s the perfect spot to let loose and have some fun, whether you're with friends or just want to embrace your inner child. It adds such a unique and playful element to the space that really sets it apart from anything else around.
But that’s not all – there’s also a fantastic shuffleboard setup that makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s a great way to unwind with friends, get competitive, or just have a laugh. Whether you’re a shuffleboard pro or a total beginner, it’s an awesome way to spend some time while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the place.
And of course, don’t forget the darts! The darts area is top-notch, with everything you need for a fun and competitive game. It’s perfect for those looking to challenge their friends or meet new people who are up for a friendly match.
What really ties everything together is the attention to detail in the space – from the chic décor to the comfortable seating, you’ll feel right at home. They also have an excellent selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Whether you're a local or just visiting, Ballers Clubhouse is a must-try. I'm already planning my next visit, especially to dive back into that epic ball pit, hit some darts, and maybe even a round of shuffleboard!
