The reviews are true, unfortunately it is down a pretty dirty and smelly laneway - but don’t let that stop you from entering this awesome venue! I booked a 120 minute Ping Pong and Interactive Darts session for 15 of my friends and we had a fun time! Upon entering we were greeted by the girls on the second level who gave us our game session card. We arrived pretty early so we were welcomed to hang out in the bar area where there is a dance floor, DJ and a pool table. The booths had QR ordering system which was pretty handy to order drinks and food to our table. Finally we got to head into our games! The staff hosts were very helpful in letting us know which tables/boards were ours and setting us up to to have a great time. As for the games we played - Ping Pong was fun and even funnier when you’re a bit tipsy and trying to chase after a ball. And Interactive Darts was pretty cool. Each of us had to make teams and take a selfie which was put up on the board. It even showed us replays which was pretty funny to watch back. I really liked the venue. It felt clean and had cool decor. Each level had its own bar too which made it easy to order drinks. I would definitely recommend Ballers for a night out, whether it be date night, a birthday or work drinks. Ballers is for everyone! It’s fairly cheap and they usually have some pretty good deals - you can’t go wrong.

We won a $100 food & drinks voucher to use at this establishment so we got dressed up to have a good time. When we arrived, it was pretty dead and the staff weren’t too helpful in showing us where to go or what was where. We found the bar and ordered 3 classic cocktails,- one being a mojito. After tasting the drinks, we realised they were all watered down and incredibly poorly made. The mojito in particular tasted of straight lime juice with soda water! The mint hadn’t been muddled and we questioned whether the bartender had added the sugar syrup. The bartender offered to remake the drink & took it from our table. After a few moments, the bartender came back to our table and asked us WHAT IS IN A MOJITO!!!!! To say we were gobsmacked is an understatement
we told him anyway, finished our *luckily free* drinks and didn’t bother using the rest of the voucher on anymore drinks let alone food. A very underwhelming experience all around. The place was actually very sticky and had the vibe of a hangout spot that would be all the rave with pre-teens!

Fantastic venue. Loved everything about it. Casual, roomy, great drinks selection, friendly staff, tasty food. Great option for all kinds of events. So why am I writing a bad review? Because there is no food waste strategy. Our group (a corporate event) wanted to take the food with us. This was not possible because take home containers weren’t available and/or allowed. One of the dishes we enjoyed happened to be served in noodle boxes so we grabbed those and packed as much extra into these as we could, to walk the streets and give away. There were not enough boxes to take all the food. We were informed it would all be thrown out. According to the recently homeless person we gave this food to, there are 2,000 people living rough in Melbourne’s CBD at the moment. Ballers club could be at least, enabling their customers to take the food away. Better still, the right thing would be to have a policy and process to avoid food going to waste in the first place.

We spent a large amount on a quiet Thursday, but had a very shocking experience with staff:

We were sitting at a table in the ball pit when a staff member told us we couldn’t have glass in there. The only sign referencing this was styled like whimsical pool decor and had other irrelevant info (eg “no lifeguard on duty”), so we weren’t aware of the rule. We got out immediately without fuss. However, a few minutes later, the manager (Jess/Jaz) aggressively told us the ball pit was now closed and threatened us with a ban if we re-entered. No sign was put up, and other people entered the ball pit, making it clear this was directed only at us.

Despite feeling targeted, we continued spending money. When we closed our tab, about 20 minutes before closing time, we shared our feedback with the bartender. He busied himself with tidying the bar and avoided eye contact, actively ignoring my friend as soon as the tab was paid. When we asked if he was listening, he started yelling, “I’ve got a job to do and somewhere to be, what do you want me to do about it?”

We were shocked at this sudden unwarranted escalation, and to be yelled at for providing feedback in a reasonable manner. My friend who provided the feedback is an ex senior police officer - nothing in his delivery warranted such escalation. This interaction was truly atrocious.

These two staff members totally let down their colleagues’ efforts and positive attitudes. Spending so much money on a dead night, only to be threatened with a ban and yelled at when providing feedback, is unacceptable.

I’ve never been to this place before and have no interest...

Paid $70 for entry which is fair enough as it was the 4th ticket sale. Arrived at around 10:00 and bought two ridiculously priced pints at $17.85 (furphy).

Before leaving to see the nye fireworks at 12 a group of us asked the ladies at the front if we will be let back in. They all said yes and hurried us along quite rudely.

Came back after the fireworks and the very rude security guard just shoved us to the side and said no entry. We protested for about 2 minutes before his superior came along and we said that we were told we were going to be allowed back in after leaving.

The superior said he doesn’t know what’s going on and said to go to the back of the line again. I remark that the first rude security guard doesn’t know what he’s doing as I was quite upset being shoved off to the side (physically) and that resulted in me and the whole group I was with being banned from the premise.

Keep in mind I had very little alcohol in my system as it had been two hours and a 45 minute walk after drinking them.

Overall one of the worst clubs I have ever been to. I should also mention that games were advertised on the tickets however the darts and shuffleboard closed at 10:00 while the clubbing was supposed to go on until 5:00 am and the bartender didn’t even know how to pour a beer, attempting to give me a pint with...
