We just returned from Melbourne and enjoyed our one-week stay at Quest on Bourke, in an Executive 2-bedroom apartment. The 1st room was slightly dusty, and the AC/heater wasn't working (even though it was recently fixed), so it was crazy freezing and since we had young kids and just came from a tropical climate, we were worried that it would be too cold for the kids. Staff (Yuuki) was very kind and helpful to bring us 2 heaters to use in the middle of the night. Baby cot provided was broken at the bottom (thankfully can still be used, but for safety reasons, pls do check). Next day, we were moved to the adjourning apartment - spacious, clean, fantastic for kids. Cot is also good. A few things weren't working though (dishwasher, all the bedside lamps, jaccuzi, Netflix button on the remote) - we didn't really need them but it would be nice to have everything working (rather disappointed with no Netflex though lol). Beds were made daily, which I liked. Carpet was cleaned daily but could be cleaner (noticed a few stray crumbs). Fridge could be better cleaned out (noticed some dirt in it). Wifi wasn't good though - we would like to suggest free wifi for guests. However in general, room had the important necessities, sufficiently cleaned, and location is PERFECT. Staff were friendly and nice. Loved it and enjoyed...
Read moreDespite email confirmation just two days before arrival, we arrived to find we were not 'in the system'. It took 45 minutes to be given a room. It has no heating!! We were offered a pathetic little blow heater. After a bit of rage, thankfully we were brought a larger heater. There was no information of any kind about the room - none of the usual folder full of information. It felt like we had been put in a previously unused back room.
When I asked about the heating, I was told that 'the heating system is being upgraded'. That in fact is exactly what we were told when we stayed here 12 months ago!! We came back here because if the place was run properly, and if it had adequate facilities, it would be perfect for a stay in Melbourne, but unfortunately this place is a joke! Stay away...
Read moreLocation was Great, central to the mall and tram right out front is a great idea. Walking distance to Flinders street station. Parking is a couple of metres up from the hotel with the Australia Post sign on the parking. Paid $32 for 2 nights of a Friday and Saturday, was pretty good. Room needs to have 2 x 2 seater sofas for those who want to relax. Don't like the idea of sitting on the toilet paper whilst on the toilet, way too close for me. Even the bath nozzle should be under the tap of the shower, smashed my leg whilst trying to have a shower. I will try to book again if needed. Staff were very...
