๐ฒ๐ฅ๐ถ๏ธDiving into the Heart of Spice at Tan's Hot Pot! The star of the show? Their signature spicy soup and the unique, must-try Duck Blood Jelly
๐ ๐ Double the Flavor, Double the Fun๐ถ๏ธ๐ถ๏ธ Our adventure began with a pot divided: Tan's traditional spicy soup on one side, igniting our palates with its bold flavors, and a soothing tomato soup in the middle, providing a comforting embrace
๐ฅข The spicy soup includes slices of Duck Blood Jelly and Braised Quail Eggs, each bite a revelation of textures and tastes. The Duck Blood Jelly, in particular, was a standout, with its silky consistency and ability to soak up the spicy broth
**Savoring Every Slice ๐ฅฉWagyu Beef M9- Chuck Eye Slice melted in our mouths with its tenderness
๐The Kurobuta Pork Slices A treat for meat lovers
**Unexpected Pairings ๐ชทThe Lotus Root Slice with Pork Mince was a first for me. The crunch of the lotus paired with the savory pork mince was a perfect match ๐
๐ฆPrawn Mince Crowned with crab roe, boasted freshness in every bite
๐ซ Crispy Tofu Skin a delight in texture and taste, generously portioned and perfectly fried
๐ฅYam Sticks A healthy and tasty addition to the mix
If you're ever in the mood to challenge your taste buds in spice, this the place to be :)
Thank you @tanhotpot for the invite ๐* Went back to Tan's Hot Pot for round 2 !!๐ฅ๐ฒ
This time tried the combo - half spicy, half tomato soup! Such a smart way to enjoy both worlds! ๐ถ๏ธ๐ Love how on my first visit I tried their signature Duck Blood Jelly and Braised Quail Eggs in that fiery spicy soup! The Duck Blood Jelly soaks up all that amazing spice! ๐ถ๏ธ

The soup base is so good, I would rather drink the soup instead of getting dipping sauce. It's rich and flavourful, especially after adding meat and seafood. I personally didn't like how the restaurant refills it with plain stock water instead of soup. It waters down the taste a bit, but you can ask them to not refill, and turn down the heat instead.
I usually see meat featured at Tan hotpot, and I was pleasantly surprised to see the high quality of the seafood. Everything was fresh and clean with no fishy taste. The prawns were big and juicy, and I liked the tiny lobsters a lot. It's perfect if you're not fond of meat, but still want to get hotpot.
The viral fish mince with roe was shaped like an actual fish! That was so cute! It was smooth, and full of fish. It went well with the tomato soup base.
It's not cheap, but it's good value for money. I went with one friend, and we went a bit overboard with ordering and ended up too full. I would say that what we ordered would have been good for 3 to 4 people.
10/10 would be back again, especially for the seafood!
The ventilation was excellent and I could feel the wind blowing at me the whole time while I was in the restaurant. It didn't feel stuffy at all, there was no smell of hotpot in the restaurant as a whole (only at the tables themselves), and the great ventilation really helped to prevent the smell of hotpot from sticking to...

Pretty reasonable prices here, hence we kinda went ham and we were sooo stuffed ๐คฐ๐ป shared amongst 5 people, there was more than enough food! The highlight ingredients were the snowflake beef, kurobata pork, and mashed prawn! All the dishes came out quite quickly and it was convenient to have a side shelf for dishes that didnโt fit on the table/empty dishes!
๐ฒ Double flavoured soup - Mushroom & Sichuan Pepper [$29.80]: the sichuan pepper may not look spicy but let me tell you we all had perspiring noses ๐ฅต donโt be fooled, those green peppers were deadly ๐ we enjoyed the mushroom soup, shouldโve ordered it alone! This soup duo was definitely a challenging experience for our spice tolerances ๐คฉ

๐ค Fresh tofu [$8.80]: beautifully sliced tofu looking like a flower ๐ธ
๐ Crispy bean curd skin [$8.80]: defeats the purpose of it being crispy, but once dipped into the soup and it goes all soggy, thatโs the best!!! ๐

๐ฆ Mashed prawn [$16.80]: one of our faves! prawns are essential for hotpot ๐คค๐คค
