The food is not very good here, and you’ll be surprised that this mediocrity is a consistent finding at this place.

Having been here three times, I can attest that the food is not worth the price or trip.

My example of this is the margherita pizza. The margherita pizza is the perfect example of all pizza: Even when it’s bad, it’s good. Because it’s pizza, and you can’t mess up a pizza. The ingredients themselves give way to a decent experience that will be flavourful and filling enough that it will pass, no matter what.

Cubbyhouse has proved me wrong. There is certainly such thing as bad pizza. The dough was overcooked, and the toppings were bland. The sauce of the pizza seemed to have no seasoning (or love) put into it, which dragged the entire experience down as I firmly believe the sauce is a backbone to a pizza. The toppings did the pizza no favours and did not aid to provide more flavour or texture. It was just a bad pizza.

Furthermore, I have tried other items including a sharing board (pictured). Every item on here is also bland, and you can tell they do not salt or season the breading - which is not great considering every single element on that board is coated in that breading.

There is a clear lack of care and thought put into the food, which you can taste. Although the location is nice, you’d be pleased to know there are plenty of other Italian eateries in the very close vicinity that you should pick...

I was really looking forward to having this restaurant added to the Mordy strip.

Came here for dinner tonight. The restaurant itself is clean and modern. Loved what you guys have done with it.

The service was friendly and prompt.

The food was very average and a big let down for me. My lasagne was cold through the centre. A simple thermometer would have let the kitchen staff know it was not heated properly before serving.

The pizzas were nothing memorable either. The base was very wet and the mozzarella was cold and not melting over the pizza.

Finally the bruschetta came out with dried herbs on it instead of fresh herbs. That's not a good look to be serving authentic Italian cuisine with dried herbs on it from a tin.

Charge what you would like for food but make sure it's amazing.

Disappointed because I was waiting for this place to open as I am a local. Sorry guys first and last...

Horrible, very disappointed!! Let's start from the beginning: The vodka on the rocks it taste like water and when I said that to the waiter, you know what he replied? "I'm sorry I don't know how to answer you".. The potato and ham crockets very undercooked and soft, crockets suppose to be crispy.. The chicken wings nothing s special.. Now the pizza, very poor and dry..There was no tomato base sauce and for 2-3 cm of the bread base was completely empty until some thing was on it like potato, little bit of ham and teeny tiny cheese..And not just that, I ordered ham instead of salami and they even charged me extra.. Waste of money and waste of Friday night, $93 disappointment.. I haven't been there for quite a long time but all 3 times that I did, I was satisfited.Not...

Visited here when passing through Mordialloc, and so glad we did. All the staff were super friendly and attentive, and seemed to be able to manage sit-in and takeout orders together successfully. We had a Cubby House Pizza and a Prosciutto Calzone - both of which were delicious. The dough was perfect and the toppings generous and tasty. They have a premium price tag, but are definitely up there with the best in Melbourne. Will definitely revisit next time we are passing Mordialloc - just wish they were a little closer to us, as we'd be regulars for sure.

After a long laborious day at the beach, the food here is just what we needed! the food was fuelling and super scrumptious in my tummy. i especially liked the pesto pasta- i recommend putting it on your main menu! i’d be quite depresso if it wasn’t on the menu next time i visit. another highlight was the kids colouring in menu. a superb idea to keep my little cousin busy for the while. i adored the ratatouille colouring in sheet. perhaps you have a little ratatouille helping you make the gorgeous pesto?
