Bar Lingo — Restaurant in Melbourne

I rarely, if ever, write reviews, but after the absolutely exceptional service that these guys afforded me for my birthday function, I just had to make my feelings known. The upstairs area is the perfect space for a function of 20-30 people with its own bar, amenities and personal music selection if so required. There is also a great view across High Street. Special mention must be made to the professional staff who went above and beyond to make the event as well run and seamless as possible. In addition to all that, the food that was served could not have been better .....special mention must be made to the braised beef.... holy cow...literally.

I cannot recommend this place enough for your next function, and thank you guys at Bar Lingo for making my birthday an event to remember, you guys absolutely nailed it. If I could give 10...

Bar is very cool, a spot in it for any type of guest. The upper floor would be great to hire out for a private function. No spots for live music but the atmosphere fills the gap. Service was outstanding, staff very friendly and quite helpful. Unfortunately I found Bar-Lingo a great bar but not a great restaurant. The menu has an extensive list of tacos to choose from so I opted for 3 assorted types. I found them lacking in flavour and freshness. Went with some pals on Friday night.

The dips and crisp were good and I liked the corn. Some of the tacos were great (specially liked the fish and the dessert ones). I can't recall which one it was but it was a little dry. There was a spicy one which I usually don't go for but I ended eating it.

The drinks were more than ok. The espresso Martini was almost there but it wasn't that strong caffeine wise.

Overall, I think it was the ambience of the place that made it a great place to catch up with friends. The alcohol and food was just an added...
