Our group originally wanted to meet up at a place further down the tram line but saw this place, packed to the rafters! I live locally and had interstate visitors and they were moths to the flame, and I was too. I don’t have the photos of the incredible food because we decimated it (and what few photos we have are locked in boomer iPone purgatory). The food was beyond incredible, was so quick to come out and was worth far beyond what the menu priced it to be. THEN THERE WAS THE SERVICE! We’re so sorry we didn’t get your name but to the amazing, knowledgeable and charismatic Canadian Greek man that made my mum and grandmother go head over heels for you; you were the most amazing and enthusiastic waitstaff any of three generations has seen! (We we’re the Newcastle people) Any of the girls on our table would’ve come back for the food, the wine or the spectacular service and attention to detail but you nailed all of them! Then you hit us with dessert ❤️ my grandmother is the matriarch of baked goods in our family for 60+ years yet she was still humbled. Be proud! Cannot recommend this place enough, just perfect everything! Home style Greek cooking, quality and QUANTITY, then the perfect service that made you feel like part of the family. I’ll be coming back a lot, those Greek meat pies, dips, octopus, scallops and IMPECCABLE SERVICE (please give the Canadian Greek man a raise) were beyond value for money. My mum and Grandmother can’t thank you and your team enough! Have added a photo of them lost for words listening to how you got to Australia, they are proud of you, and until they travel back I’ll have to order for them because your food is too...
Read morePerhaps an off night… considering the 4.7 rating count expected a lot more.
We had a very nice waitress. They make a good Gin and Tonic.
However… wasn’t a great experience. And it is more expensive than a lot of other Greek restaurants around. The food and service didn’t justify that cost.
The kitchen was disorganised. Four of us were at dinner. First person got his meal. The other two got it about 5 minutes later. The fourth person didn’t get his meal. As we’re eating, we asked another waitress (not our lead one) about it, she said it’s coming. Even though she didn’t check she’s just psychic apparently.
Finally the lead waitress comes over and says it’ll be another 10 minutes! By then the first person was finished and the other two were close.
The waitress could tell our disappointment and offered free dessert so for that she tried to remedy the situation. And grateful for her trying.
Also, We asked for the saganaki to come out with the mains ( we were asked when we wanted it) But of course it had to come out first. Don’t ask if you have no interest in doing it.
As for the food,
Home made bread ? Looks like a French stick from Woolies. Dips are very small for $28.00. Had to pay $3.00 for pita bread to go with the dips. Can’t recall the last time a Greek restaurant didn’t provide pita bread for free.
Some of us didn’t like our mains, some though...
Read moreWe are still talking about our dining experience here a week later but not in a good way. Was looking forward to dinner here based on all the good reviews BUT what a let down. Food was nice, nothing to rave about, but in our opinion hugely over priced. Everything has to be ordered separately. Which is a real cheek. Mains come with nothing apart from the meat. Not that anything was explained. Had to ask. Cutlets (5) small, thin & overcooked $32. Chicken souvlaki $22, just the chicken. Want salad, pita, tzatziki or chips, you have to order it. Never been to a restaurant that does this. At those prices surely you could add a little salad at least. Small bowl of salad was $15. One saving grace was dessert was complimentary. Service was ok, not fantastic but it was a busy night. Our bill, for 2 people with 1 drink each was $150. To make matters worse when I went to pay I was asked how much tip I would like to add....
