Greek Street Food gr — Restaurant in Melbourne

Having attended recently with a group of 4 people and expecting big things from Greek Street Food, we were left quite disappointed.

We found that the quality of the meat in particular was quite poor and resembled more pre-packaged skewers rather than freshly cut meat which has been skewered up. The chips were well seasoned with oregano and salt (as both being staples of Greek Cuisine) however when they arrived were soggy. With the essence of this place being the quality of the meat, this left a sour taste in our mouths and a sense of disappoint. Being aware of the van which has been circling Melbourne for a while it was disappointing to see the restaurant did not live up to those expectations.

The atmosphere of the venue is nice and well laid out. The prices are reasonable and the serving size accurately represents this.

We got our food delivered. The smell as it came through the door was amazing! The souvlakia were perfect and the flavours en point. Great value for money and quality ingredients. My wife didn’t stop talking about the delicious feta crumbled all over the chips! My only negative comment (and really nothing major) is that whatever is used to grill the Oita gives of a very acrid burnt flavour rather than a nice charred flavour. Maybe a bit of olive oil before grilling! Regardless, still some of the best Greek food I’ve had in a long time (that doesn’t come out of my yia yias kitchen). Thank you for the ultimate hangover...

The food is lovely, quality, fantastic. It is also quite expensive and small serves. The customer service is abysmal. Delivery service prioritised over dine in with a long wait for food. Worst of all the restaurant refuses to serve water. They tried to tell me this is a covid restriction, but I have never experienced this elsewhere and it is technically a legal requirement of venues that serve food and alcolhol to provide water. Buying expensive drinks for a family bumped up the cost of the meal considerably. We have had great times here in the past but sadly won't...
