The restaurant has wonderful views, and has a lovely open space, with lots of glass, however, it can get noisy. I also found it quite cold sitting against the window as a draft would come in through the cracks. The best part - views – the city, the bay, and the mountains. I’m not in a hurry to return as there were several issues with our food. Honestly, whilst some of the food was delicious, it is very expensive for what you get, especially given the portion sizes. Just order snacks or smalls as we were bitterly disappointed with our mains. Overall, it was hit and miss and not the exceptional experience we were expecting. Overpriced, little value, and food overall is average. FOOD: is good but very expensive for what it is and for the portion sizes. For entrée we shared the Burrata, truffle fondu, aged balsamic ($24) and the Miso roasted heirloom beetroot, smoked macadamia curd, puffed rice ($24). Both these dishes were delicious, well seasoned, well cooked, with exceptional flavours and textures. But this is where it ends. My husband ordered the 250g wagyu MB6 ($65) with fries. I ordered the Seared yellowfin tuna niçoise, baby cos, green beans, baby potatoes ($36). We also ordered the Baby cos salad, café de Paris dressing ($12). My husband asked for the steak to be cooked rare, but it wasn’t how it arrived, it was overcooked. At $65 you would expect perfection. The waitress did offer to get a new steak but given we had waited so long already, and my food was at the table, my husband just ate it. I did not enjoy my food at all. The yellowfin tuna was bland, but it wasn’t tasty. The capsicums and potatoes were so finely chopped that I felt the meal was designed for a child. The salad was all mashed and soggy and the beans were as a hard as a rock. I honestly don’t understand what was presented to me, I appreciate it was a take on a traditional Niçoise salad, but all the vegetables so finely chopped, and soggy, and the tasteless tuna! It wasn't pleasant at all, for me anyway, I'm not a child that needs mashed food. Next, we had the desserts Dark chocolate terrine, sour cream caramel, salted pretzel and Baked blueberry cheesecake ($19 each). They were okay, but not great. The chocolate terrine was dry, and I was pleased it came with the sour cream; the blueberry cheesecake was baked well but it was average, nothing outstanding. WINE: the wine and cocktail list is extensive. On this occasion we each had a glass of wine. It was okay, expensive, for a small glass. SERVICE: We had a lovely waitress, but we did have to try many times to get her attention to order our drinks and our food and provide feedback. We were given drinks menu but not the food menu. The staff seemed nice, but they all seemed to be working in a state of fear, rather than happiness. RESERVATIONS: Easy to make an online reservation, however, even though I confirmed my booking and included a photo of myself (it was an option), when we arrived at the desk, we were told that he couldn’t find our booking. I then spelt my name again (and again) and after some searching and waiting, he found the reservation. It’s not a positive experience arriving at a restaurant and the reservation can’t be found, you’re standing around waiting, as the line of people gets longer behind you. Once he found our reservation we were taken to our table, which was right next to the open kitchen, and not a nice table, nor did it have any views. The restaurant was empty at this stage, and I asked to be seated at a different table, especially given I don’t like cooking smells and don’t enjoy walking out of restaurants with my clothes smelling. Given I had booked weeks earlier, and I had advised it was a special occasion, I couldn’t understand why we were offered, what I considered, one of the less desirable tables. In the end we got an okay table. I noticed many other guests kept asking for different tables than what they were being offered.

ORDERED: Premium Chef's Selection ($120.00pp) Entrees: 🍞 House made focaccia, olive oil, barrel aged balsamic 🍅 Wandin Yallock farm tomatoes, quickes cheddar, basil, pickled purplete 🐟 Ora king salmon & kingfish crudo, avocado, ikura, ancho chilli dressing Mains: 🍗 Lemon & herb rotisserie chicken 🥩 350g lamb rump, red wine jus, miso butter 🥗 Wood roasted greens, capers, toasted sunflower seeds 🍟 Fries, L24 ketchup Dessert: 🍎 Caramelised apple, rhubarb crumble, coconut sorbet 🧀 Baked blueberry cheesecake, digestive ice cream 🍹 Spring Blossom and Passion Potion mocktails It was $138.87pp which included mocktails and 1.5% card surcharge. REVIEW: Beverly's fallen into the trap where the entrees were GREAT, then the food left more to the desired. ❤ Entrees started off great. Focaccia that was soft, sprinkled with salt and seed for flavour, accompanied by juicy tomatoes and the thickest slices of raw fish. No complaints here, I'm a big fan of the kick of spice from the chilli dressing and the salmon! 😍 ➖ The mains didn't live up to the entree hype. Although we loved the lamb rump with the red wine jus and its layer of fat, the chicken was a little dry and the accompanying sauces weren't to our taste. The skin was seasoned great, but the meat itself did need a sauce to add flavour and add some moist back in 😢. Loved that the chicken was cooked through!! Wood roasted greens were a little bit limp, and didn't seem to fit seamlessly with any of the dishes. 💀 Fries were wonderfully crunchy, but the ketchup tasted too far from tomato and into a mysterious smoky condiment. For two hungry gals - I can't believe this is a complaint - there was too much food. The food would feed at least 3, and it felt bad to have food wastage! 😭 We did try our best! 🤩 Dessert was a great way to finish. I'm not a cheesecake girlie, but I loved the caramelised apple with coconut sorbet which was a refreshing way to complete the dinner. Atmosphere and service was great. The male waiter with the glasses was friendly and engaging, and as other people have mentioned the views and interior is architecturally freeing and gorgeous. 🪂 The environment is LOUD though - you definitely need to raise your voice a bit to your friend across the table but I can see it being fun for a night out. 🔊 Wish they made the effort to introduce the dishes a little bit more. Luckily we kept the menu with us and we could follow along. 📚

A Disastrous Christmas Party Experience at The Beverly

I feel compelled to share my recent experience hosting a Christmas party at The Beverly. What was supposed to be a joyous and memorable celebration turned into an absolute nightmare, thanks to the incompetence and negligence of the staff.

To begin with, we had made a confirmed booking for a Christmas party of 25 guests. However, upon our arrival, we were met with a table set for a mere 20 people. It was incredibly embarrassing and inconvenient, as we had to scramble to accommodate the additional guests. The staff's failure to fulfill our reservation left a sour taste in our mouths right from the start, dampening the festive spirit we had hoped to enjoy.

As if that wasn't disappointing enough, we were shocked to discover that we were overcharged for drinks that never made it to our table. Not only were we deceived into paying for beverages we never received, but our attempts to rectify the situation were met with disinterest and indifference from the staff. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for our concerns only exacerbated our frustration and disbelief.

The Beverly completely ruined what should have been a magical Christmas party experience. The staff's incompetence and lack of attention to detail cast a dark shadow over the festivities. It is disheartening to witness such poor customer service and a complete disregard for the importance of ensuring a positive and memorable event for their patrons.

I strongly caution against hosting any future events or parties at The Beverly. Their inability to honor reservations and their willingness to overcharge for undelivered items are clear indicators of their lack of commitment to customer satisfaction and quality service. Save yourself the disappointment and seek out other venues that prioritize professionalism and customer care.

In conclusion, our Christmas party at The Beverly was an unmitigated disaster, marred by the staff's incompetence and disregard for our reservation and satisfaction. We will not be returning, and I urge others to reconsider hosting their events at this establishment. There are countless other venues that can provide a much more enjoyable and well-organized experience during this...
