Braybrook Hotel — Restaurant in Melbourne

Great environment, Great kids Play area. Room for improvement on Food.

First time in Braybrook hotel with my daughter and can't believed I didn't come here earlier. The Kids play area is pretty good - like a mini play center.

The environment is quite casual with a note at entry of No thongs, singlet - basically don't wear trashy. All good to keep the place in its class.

Food wise was not as great. There are few areas including salads, desserts, carvery, curries, fried rice/noodles etc. The food taste reasonable but too oily and have a strange taste to them. My daughter quickly picked up the prawn crackers and hated it from first bite - I tried it and indeed. It's too oily and carry a burnt taste.

Carvery was great, pork, beef and even lamb. Can't fault it. Then there's vegies - Most places would put salt and pretty much it to steamed veggies but the this place also includes pepper. So for those kids that cannot tolerate Pepper - you have no choice as there's only 1 steam veggies.

Salads selection is not much but adequate. Pizza looks dry and stale.

Desserts adequate. I heard someone was saying the Jelly was "to die for". I'd think it's great but I haven't tried it myself. Fruits the cuts were bigger than usual. Cakes were great.

Will be there again. it's a great place for dinner and certainly great for smaller gatherings.

Service was great, plates cleared on timely manner. But I can imagine those sitting at the far side of restaurant won't get much attention. There was 7 or so waiters/attendants but from my observations only 2 actively going around collecting and service. 2 were standing at the reception desks and the rest just walks around. But I sits around the center so there's no issues with...

The buffets first night opening after covid restrictions and it was also our first visit here. Can I just say WELL DONE to all the staff for doing such an awesome job. It's a learning curve for all including customers and the staff were all so friendly and accommodating. The lady that welcomed us in and seemed to run the dining area was amazing!!! So attentive and caring... I'm sorry I didn't catch your name. My family dined on table 55 and had a great experience. Very easy to follow instructions from lining up to get your food and following the tiled path around to the dining area. Also a separate line for the dessert bar. It was very uniform, clean and worked very well. My kids can't wait for the play area to be open as they had a glimpse and were amazed at how big it is. We will definitely have to come back for that. Can I just make a few suggestions. Perhaps have already made up cups of hot chips and different size ice cream scoops or ladles for the dishes... so that people can request 1, 2, or 3 scoops of whatever. It would save the servers/chefs/kitchen staff from guessing serving amounts or trying to hear customers talk through their masks. And maybe a separate table between the person handing out the dishes and the customer. They can stand behind the table and place the plate/bowl/cutlery on the table for the customer to pick up, just so they aren't having to physically...

All round great food and experience. Unlike many of the above reviews I’m not going to seek out and whinge about the negatives as we didn’t see or experience any. We entered the establishment and waited in line for about seven minutes to enter the dining area. There were around fifty people in front of us. The staff were professional, courteous and diligent. It’s a busy family atmosphere with new modern and nicely designed decor which was very clean. The staff were constantly moving around the dining room attending to all the tables. We lined up for food at the exceptional buffet with great quality pub food, and huge variety, all well prepared and displayed with attentive chefs assisting with food service as required. There were around 30 people in line and in no time at all we had our plate filled. We didn’t wait more than five to 8 minuets to get our food. The friendly bar staff served us well also. If this was an average busy evening I could not identify any short comings as reported by others. There are two smoking areas which were clean and tidy along with the sports bar and pokies area. The play area for children was well populated and looked to be a hit for all the children attending. We never got to thank the staff and management for a great evening and quality food however this review will let them know of our experience. We will be back again.
