i recently had the misfortune of dining at GYG braybrook and it has been an absolute nightmare. Not only did I suffer from food poisoning once but, believe it or not, I foolishly gave it another chance, only to be struck down by food poisoning a second time. It is safe to say that my experience at GYG was nothing short of a gastronomic disaster.
First and foremost, the quality of the food at GYG was abysmal. The ingredients used were questionable at best, with stale vegetables, overcooked meats, and poorly executed flavors. The supposed "freshness" of their ingredients was clearly a false claim. The lack of attention to detail and poor hygiene standards were evident in every bite.
On both occasions, the symptoms of food poisoning hit me like a ton of bricks shortly after leaving the restaurant. The severe stomach cramps, uncontrollable nausea, and hours spent hunched over the toilet were an agonizing ordeal that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. It became painfully clear that GYG had failed to prioritize food safety, leaving me with no choice but to endure the consequences of their negligence.
To make matters worse, the customer service at GYG was equally disappointing. When I tried to reach out to the management about my ordeal, I was met with indifference and a complete lack of accountability. The staff showed no empathy or concern for my well-being, dismissing my complaints as if they were inconsequential. It was a stark reminder of their disregard for their customers' health and safety.
Furthermore, the overall cleanliness and ambiance of the restaurant were subpar. The dining area was unkempt, with dirty tables and a noticeable lack of attention from the staff. It felt like I was dining in a neglected and unhygienic environment, which only added to my unease.
Given my terrible experience, I strongly advise against dining at GYG. Not only does their food lack quality and taste, but the risk of contracting food poisoning is alarmingly high. The complete lack of accountability and customer care further amplifies the already unpleasant experience.
I urge everyone to prioritize their health and well-being by steering clear of GYG. There are numerous other establishments that offer superior quality, safer dining experiences, and genuinely care about their customers. Take my advice and spare yourself the agony of food poisoning and the disappointment of a restaurant that fails to uphold even the basic standards of culinary excellence.

Read moreWorst experience ever at GYG — staff need serious retraining.
I’ve been to this same GYG location twice before, and both times were fine — but this third visit was honestly a disaster. I waited over 40 minutes for my food even though there were only three customers inside and maybe three cars in the drive-through.
What made it worse was that there were around eight staff working, yet not a single one seemed to care. I stood at the counter trying to get someone’s attention, even said “hey,” but they completely ignored me — just walked past like I wasn’t even there. The only thing they said after a while was “we’re busy”, which made zero sense considering how quiet it was.
I also noticed drive-through customers who were told to park in the waiting bays were sitting there for 20+ minutes before getting their food. When they finally went inside to ask, the staff’s response was basically, “When did you order?” or “Can I see where you ordered?” — no apology, no urgency, nothing.
And the food? Easily the worst I’ve ever had from GYG. I ordered a burrito and a quesadilla — the quesadilla was practically empty, with just two small pieces of chorizo and the rest just melted cheese. Then I checked my burrito and it was soaking wet, literally dripping water. I don’t even know how that happens.
For a brand that usually prides itself on consistency and good service, this experience was unbelievably bad. Having that many staff but still being this slow, rude, and careless is unacceptable. I’ve always been a regular GYG customer, but after this, I honestly don’t feel like going back — at least not to this store.
I really hope GYG management reads this and looks into what’s going on here, because this is nowhere near the GYG...
Read moreI would like to share a long-overdue review following a terrible experience I had on Australia Day, January 26th and yet another one today. I want to express my disappointment about the 15 percent surcharge on a public holiday, which I believe is excessive for a fast food chain. It appears that the restaurant does not consider the hard times some people are experiencing and is discouraging customers from visiting on holidays when families gather. I am not only referring to this particular store but to all GYG locations. The 15 percent surcharge is ridiculous. The portion sizes, excluding the burritos, are much too small. The pulled beef was served almost cold, the cheese barely melted, and the chips were warm. Additionally, the tacos were a far cry from authentic Mexican flavors, and the 15 percent surcharge made the experience even worse. I invited some friends and their family from Mexico who are on holiday, and they agreed that the food is far from authentic Mexican cuisine. The workers at GYG seem to have an inappropriate level of confidence in their product, thanks to the hype given to them by there the operations team and launch day. This results in subpar service and substandard food, with the employees thinking that customers will love it simply because it's GYG. The leaders must take responsibility for every team member and ensure that the company keeps its promises and maintains a high product standard. Otherwise, this growing empire will stumble and end up with empty stores, just...
