Burgers are great .... Breakfast needs reconfiguration .... and coffee too.
This review is on their breakfast menu, not lunch nor burgers.
Location wise, PERFECT, FANTASTIC & truly UNIQUE Melbourne, on a Cobblestones lane-way between warehouses in South Melbourne, that's the appeal of this place, what's appalling is the $1.70/hour parking fee implied by the Bayside City Council, coins only no credit card slot, anyone still carries coins these days?
Excellent set up too, much better than their Saint Kilda venue; open kitchen, redesigned container pallets on the wall, hanging "chandelier", industrial stuff, common table, street art on the wall, etc. etc. warm yet vibrant.
On the breakfast menu, lots of options, your hearty, traditional/home-cooked style fares, simplicity is always the best. Good portion (a lot), unfortunately wasn't cooked well. Big Breakfast; piled grilled sliced/thinly cut tomatoes and mushrooms, crumbled hashbrowns, crispy bacon, and flat eggs, spinach was blench well and love the plain triangular cut white toast (haven't had that for a while). A bigger plate might help with the presentation.
Omelettes; again, generous, hearty, just overcooked eggs and bacon.
All comes with a serve of chutney .... home-made? Not sure.
Great, enjoyable, vibrant venue, just need to reconfigure the breakfast menu.
Staff are gregarious, happy and great too .... will come back for their...
Read moreThis is to one of my favorite burger chains I've ever tried. It's situated in a bit of a secluded spot in South Melbourne, therefore it's very quiet in the neighborhood. A very nice vibe to this place which sets you in the right mood for a hearty meal.
We got outselves the double B as it was the popular choice with 2x juicy beef patties, 2x chewy bacon strips covered in the goodness of 2x American cheddar. This takes time to arrive, but totally worth it when it does. This is one luscious burger which makes your hands dirty but fills you up with the goodness of protein and cheese.
Do not forget to try the hot sauces available on their desks for free. The habanero is a good treat whilst the spicy Sanchez with a Scoville scale of 1.5 million gives you tears and hiccups immediately, yet soo flavorful and tasteful. A must try for a real good kick. However make sure that you've got a water/milk next to you.
This was one of favorite places to visit, and with some friendly staff at the venue, it's the easiest...
Read moreDelicious, hearty burgers! Not oily, and very tasty. Probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The meat was juicy, bacon wasn’t burnt, the buns were fresh and the cheese was the perfect kind for cheeseburgers. Chips were well seasoned.
The restaurant was clean, and had great vibes. A great hole in the wall joint tucked into a back street which I reckon has the potential to be a crowd favourite.
I paid $27.50 for a double deluxe burger meal with a can of soft drink, large chips and some special sauce (similar to Big Mac sauce). My partner and I shared my large chips, which was more than enough for the both of us.
The only con was the 20 minute wait, which the staff member did apologise for. He was the only one working so he was dealing with the dinner rush on his own. Luckily, my partner and I arrived before the rush of people came in after us so we probably weren’t waiting as...
