The older blonde woman was rude and abrupt when I asked her to not handle my food after touching the previous customer's dirty money and she also used her gloved hands to wipe her face. I prefer my food to not contain traces of feces (from the money), sweat and who knows what else. When I brought this up she quipped back "then just go!" and flapping her hands as if to shoo me away. She offered no apology or way to rectify the situation. I was calm and polite and she immediately turned nasty.
I've worked in hospitality for many years, in a variety of roles, including food safety training. I train all my staff to never touch their face or hair, nor should they handle money when handling food. Frequent hand washing is a must and if you're wearing gloves, they need to be changed often, ESPECIALLY after handling money and touching your face and hair.
To add to this, the previous time I visited and was actually served by someone, the young guy behind the bain marie was eating, so I had to wait for him to finish his mouthful. Again, this is not standard, acceptable food safety procedures.
This is a shame as the pies are generally quite good. 0.5/5 stars for service, 1/5 for cleanliness, 3/5...
Read moreThe one star was for service. Couldn’t rate the food because we didn’t eat it, had to walk away in disgust. We dropped by this morning to order 5 serves of pie and salad for lunch. The pies looks amazing but service was atrocious. We were given major attitude for daring to order at the salad section rather than the pie section because god forbid the server has to walk 5 steps between the salad and pie section. Can’t see how it would make a difference which boggles the mind regarding the attitude. If they want things be done a certain way, put signs up to give customers directions, it’s not rocket science. The final straw came when she slammed the cardboard trays on the counter. Don’t care how good your food looks but if this is how you treat your customers then you don’t get our business. The person who served us was an older lady. If she was my employee she would be cautioned, if she owns the business she should have a good hard look at her customer service skills or...
