Burnley Brewing is a brewery located on Bridge Rd in Richmond. Their Taproom offers a full kitchen, 14 taps of beer (some pouring direct from the tank), plus a wide range of wines, spirits and other beverages. ๐ป
We attended for a birthday in their Bierhall, right behind the main bar, which is is primarily used for functions and events. From what we tried, the catered food was decent. The Southern Spiced Chicken was great - crispy and tender. The Arancini was probably too aldente but had nice flavour and the Beef Sliders were a miss for me. I did however order a serve of Olives, which was super generous.
To drink, my favourite was their Imperial Blackberry Mango Pastry Gose. For a non-beer drinker, this was very easy with lots of tart and sweet fruity notes. The cocktail list incorporated their beers which was exciting, however can make classics on request. I tried their version of a Margarita and Limoncello Spritz however they werenโt for my taste. ๐น
Staff are very friendly and itโs a casual space to come for a drink or a simple bite to eat. Lots of big TVs around so a good spot to watch the footy!...
ย ย ย Read moreA brewery with an equal focus on wines, it has a fun casual atmosphere boasting both a ping pong table and a dj. We started with the paddle which featured a range from ales, pilsners and lagers. If you are a beer novice however the staff are well versed to talk you through your options. We ordered the lamb ribs and calamari to start as well as the hot wings. I stayed away from the wings not being a huge fan of spice but thoroughly enjoyed the sticky sauce of the ribs. The calamari was plentiful but perhaps a little oily. Definitely very tender though. For mains we ordered the Margherita pizza and the eggplant parmigiana. Again a bit oily on the eggplant but the pizza was utterly delicious. A good oregano flavour and a perfect base. My highlight of the evening was the sticky date pudding with the deliciously rich caramel sauce. Overall a friendly relaxed type of place with a great philosophy; drink better, live better, build connections, make memories and relax. Words to...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is a brewery, and the beer was ok, I would like to try a couple more varieties they have, but it seemed far from the focus of the place and a bit underwhelming, however the wine list was crazy and I'll go back to try that and the wings.
The food though... Nachos were super bland with jalapenos as the only flavour; the chips seemed stale, cheap, or overcooked once piled with average, flavourless guac and bean mix. The pizza was served on ceramic plates- if you make pizza, even at home, you should know to serve on a surface that absorbs moisture, not condensates and makes it worse. Chilli chicken had zero chilli, the tomato base was unnoticeable, the basic pizza styles weren't on the menu and what was on there was confused... But the base could have been great as the crust was nice, and cooked well. Overall not seasoned, flavourless and...
