i looooove byblos! always such a yummy and fun dining experience here. visited multiple times and on our most recent visit, we dined for an early sunday dinner. the ambience is warm, cosy and inviting! spacious area with luxurious chairs and incredibly friendly and attentive staff who are knowlegdable in the menu and very accommodating. the food is always delicious and we aways leave feeling satisifed! without being too salty ot oily, the Lebanese food sticks to its traditional ingredients, names and preparations. we especially love the trio of dips (this is a MUST order), tender stuffed vineleaves, whitebait (which was very fleshy and not overly fried), mixed pickles (only $9 and HUGE!), chicken skewers (some of the most tender, succulent chicken breast i've ever had) and taboulleh is a must alongside all these dishes. don't forget the choc pudding for dessert which comes out oozy, hot and so delicous. this pairs well with their unique and refreshing coconut pannacotta! something we've never tried but loved. wish the choc sauce in the pudding was of nicer quality, it tasted like a store-bought sauce. but otherwise, i wouldnt fault a thing. food, drinks, staff, ambience and service were all faultless really. have visited twice in the last month! thankyou byblos!

Dined only yesterday we made a booking. Upon arrival we were Immediately seated in the back corner of the restaurant. 5 adults with a toddler. The minute I sat down the waiter advised us that he couldn’t serve the table food as stroller will be in the way. Having said this he could of 1 moved us to another table as there were plenty of empty tables with more space ( refer to photos) or B made more room by moving table next to us a bit further considering the restaurant wasn’t even busy. So he advised us he’ll bring a high chair for bub, but went about his work and didn’t come back for a while. I sat bub in the high chair when it was finally brought out. He was very sleepy, so I eventually moved him back to the stroller and later positioned stroller beside me. The stroller is a yo-yo which is a small, slim, mini travel stroller. Takes absolutely minimal space and waiters can move around comfortably as it wasn’t even in there way. The waiter came over to take our orders. Everybody was ready to order. I had my head down at the time ( I spotted a dead fly) but everybody was giving the waiter their full attention and begun telling him their order. He cut them off looked at me and said “oh looks like you need more time” left us to assist other diners then came back. I found this extremely rude even his body language, voice tone and behaviour just seemed like we were an inconvenience for him. The minute we walked in he did not crack a smile yet his voice tone & body language changed towards other diners. I didn’t complain because I didn’t want to make the people I’m with feel anymore uncomfortable than what we were already feeling. It was awkward and we felt unwelcome. There was plenty of staff in the restaurant they could of assisted other diners. The restaurant was practically empty. It was 5pm and raining outside. Definitely didn’t experience a 5 star exceptional dining nor feel that they’re kid friendly. I ordered a mixed plate. The keftah meat skewer tasted dry and over cooked. The food seemed as though it’s precooked then heated up. Didn’t taste fresh. Small portions on the expensive side. I wouldn’t recommend this establishment for families. The guests I was with dined here frequently and advised that the food and service is usually better. Apart from that beautiful decor, the table art gave a wow factor. Great location, easily accessible with car park behind the restaurant.

For father’s day, I booked banquet for 5 adults and 3 kids on 1/09/14 at 12:30pm. I paid $400 in advance as required by the restaurant. When I arrived at 12:15pm with my family, I was expecting that we would have a nice lunch and a wonderful time together. However, this was not what happened. After providing evidence of the booking, the manager informed me that I did the booking incorrectly and he was expecting only two guests instead of 8. The booking showed two guest with 5 adults and 3 kids, which is clearly an inconsistency of their booking system. The proposed solution was to be refunded or sit outside in a very windy day. His approach was very disappointing as he did not take any responsibility for his booking system and disregarded the fact that I paid for 8 people in advance. It is relevant to highlight that there was plenty of space to accommodate my family at the time but this was not the manager’s intention. As a result, my family and I had to find another place to celebrate father’s day in a very busy CBD which frustrated us all. Now I have to wait for the refund with no other liabilities for the manager’s poor approach. It is sad to inform that I have been to this restaurant a few times to celebrate special family moments and I will never come back there again.

Byblos Bar & Restaurant is a must-visit destination for Mediterranean cuisine enthusiasts. The restaurant, located on the riverside in Docklands, Melbourne, offers an elegant and sophisticated ambiance that is perfect for a special occasion or romantic dinner. The menu features a diverse selection of traditional Lebanese and Mediterranean dishes, all expertly prepared with high-quality ingredients and a focus on authenticity. Standout dishes include the Fattoush salad, Shanklish and Halloumi salad, all of which are delicious, authentic and definitely worth trying. The Mezza banquet is an excellent way to sample a variety of dishes and experience the diversity of the menu. The restaurant's location by the Yarra River and close proximity to Melbourne's CBD make it a great spot for a special occasion or romantic dinner. The staff is warm, friendly and attentive, and they go above and beyond to make sure that every guest feels special. Overall, Byblos Bar & Restaurant offers a truly unforgettable dining experience with delicious food, great service and a beautiful ambiance that makes it a must-visit destination.

Perched on the banks of the Yarra at the base of Melbourne’s World Trade Centre, is Byblos, a somewhat hidden restaurant that boast a really sophisticated Mediterranean vibe. Your first choice is where to sit: there’s outside dining and bar stools. Or if you’d prefer inside on a table, a booth, at the bar, at the high tops or even upstairs. There’s literally a place for you anywhere. The menu showcases a delightful variety of Lebanese and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Here are my picks of the evening: of course you must order the Middle Eastern Inspired dips with flat bread hummus, smoky baba ganoush and labneh just like Nonna used to make it. The skewers I can not recommend highly enough. Juicy. Is that a good adjective to describe the lamb and chicken skewers? Truly they really were great. I’d absolutely recommend trying the dishes on offer at Byblos.
