Cafe Alfretti — Restaurant in Melbourne

Oh my, this cafe is desperately in need of new management. I was met by a guy that said "what do you want?" After I said good morning I ordered a toasted egg and bacon roll and then sat down at a table. I was joined at the table by a friendly pigeon that sat on the the actual table in front of me. There were other pigeons inside the cafe and I noticed one pigeon went to the toilet on the floor. The entire cafe was filthy dirty and run by 2 males both speaking an Asian language and appeared totally disinterested in their job. To make the situation even worse the cafe is annexed to the Alfred Hospital and how the hospital management can allow this is beyond me. Avoid...

Maybe if the people running this spent less time chattering in their own language together looking at their phones, instead of attending to customers as they walk in or walking to the dirty tables and wipe them down or clean them up, this might be a better and busier place. I think it would be better to go to Hungry Jacks across the road. Oh and the Day Surgery asks people to be dropped off and arrive by 7am so there’s a few people milling around and not open until 7am. I have been a patient at the Alfred Centre for some time now and the Alfretti cafe has become part of my routine. The coffee here is excellent, and the two barista’s are equally fantastic. Leah, who usually makes my coffee, remembers my name and always takes the time to ask how my treatment is going and whether or not the last coffee was to my liking so she can adjust accordingly. Despite some bad reviews I see here, the service and coffee do truly make up for any other minor “negatives”. I look forward to seeing you...
