Kai Dining is a must-visit for anyone looking for high-quality Japanese fusion food and it is worth all the hype! • What we ordered: 🍣 Eat Like A Boss 3.0 (😋Must Try - definitely get this one if you are hungry or comes in a big party) 🥪 Black Garlic Aioli Chicken Sando (😋Must Try) 🍱 Sweet Soy Glazed Pork Belly Bento (😋Must Try, but exxy though) 🍚 1991 Don (😋Must Try) 🐔 Fried Boneless Chicken ☕ Drinks: Matcha & Hojicha Latte • Eat Like a Boss 3.0 is the bomb! Assortment of gourmet-style sushi served with the highest quality of seafood & other fresh ingredients, all beautifully presented on a wooden board. We were sceptical at first but the sushi was exceptional - it was difficult to pick a favourite because they were all delicious. The sashimi was thick and super fresh too - it was a joy to eat. This sushi platter is perfect for sharing between 4-5 people and is a must-try. • The staff recommended we try Japanese Boneless Fried Chicken, and we weren't disappointed. We loved the crunchy coating and the juicy chicken meat - as well as the homemade dipping sauce that went with the chicken, damn good! • The Japanese Chicken Katsu Sando with Black Garlic Aoili was also delicious. We enjoyed the bread, which was soft and fluffy. This is one of the best sandos we have had in Melbourne. • Both the rice dishes: 1991 Don & Sweet Soy Glazed Pork Belly Bento were also super tasty. We are huge fans of mentai and it was so satisfying to savour that on 1991 don. Sweet Soy Glazed Pork Belly was also amazing, the pork belly portion was rather generous but it was on the pricier side. • Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant - everything was delicious, and the service was fantastic as well! There is a wide selection on the menu - ask the staff for recommendations. Definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants...

Food was way below average and service was even worse. We ordered salmon sashimi, 2 bentos, curry udon, and an ICED matcha latte. The iced matcha latte was horrible. We informed the staff about it and they offered to make it again. About 30 mins later, they brought out a HOT matcha latte instead. And it tasted EXACTLY the same, except that it was hot. They also gave us 2 hot chocolates on the house to apologise for their poor service. We appreciate their efforts but the hot chocolate wasn't that good either. The salmon sashimi seemed very "cheap" and low-quality as it broke apart very easily. I ordered a soy glazed pork bento and although the flavour of the pork was decent, it was very dry and was very unpleasant to eat. The chicken karaage was decent.

However, the main issue was the curry udon. The staff mistakenly gave the curry udon to a different table and did not notice their mistake until at least 30 minutes later. The staff attempted to give us curry with rice instead which suggests their unwillingness to make up for their mistakes. Another staff intervened and proceeded to make another curry udon for us. About 15 minutes later, the curry udon arrived and it was way too sweet. The chicken katsu that came with it was bland and lacked flavour. It was definitely not worth the wait. The staff that served us was very timid and at some points, we couldn't even understand what he was trying to say.

Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant if you want good food and good service. Although I appreciate their efforts to make up for their mistakes and bad service, they were still unable to...

This Japanese fusion restaurant is worth all the hype!

The sushi platter was sensational, and looks like a work of art! There was such a good assortment, and the diverse range meant there is something for everyone to enjoy. It was not only appetising to the eyes, but it was all very delicious!

The pork belly dish was recommended to us, and we loved it— the sweet sauce on it, the good ratio of fat to meat, and overall a very satisfying dish! The salmon in the bento box was really tender and the glaze was so flavourful, also a very satisfying dish! We also loved the soft shell crab salad, it was such a delicious mix of food, so fresh and yum, and didn’t feel like you were eating “grass” (despite it being a salad— it tasted so good! 😋)

The chicken across the board blew our mind — it was soo good! This includes the chicken in the sushi, the one in the sando, the bento box and the fried chicken — perfection! I would highly recommend ordering the fried chicken for anyone who visits — it was some of the best fried chicken we have ever tried, blew our mind, incredible! It was crunchy, the chicken was tender, light and airy. The sauce it came with was also delicious, complemented it really well. Even after all the time we spent taking photos, it wasn’t dry or heavy, and still tasted amazing. In fact, all the dishes that needed a crunch, maintained the crunch even after all the time, didn’t go soggy and was superbly made!

Overall, not only was everything super delicious, but we absolutely loved the vibes of the restaurant and the service was also...

Sushi lover’s dream come true @kaidiningmelbourne which specialises in unique, artisan, divine, freshest sushi and sashimi besides traditional Japanese delicacies like Bento boxes, don, sandos etc. What we had here: Eat like a Boss 3.0 which comes with an assortment of best quality seafood sushi and sashimi. Each one of the sushi from this spread was absolutely exceptional, so fresh, refreshing and tasty. Trust me, you won’t find this amazing quality and taste of sushi anywhere else in Melbourne. Must try and this spread is perfect for sharing between 4-5 sushi lovers. Chicken Katsu bento, such fresh and irresistible ingredients this bento box comes with like sashimi, salad, rice, chicken karaage and the perfectly crisp chicken Katsu. Highly recommended Spicy teriyaki chicken don, so flavourful, satisfying and delicious rice bowl that comes with salad, egg, and spicy teriyaki chicken which was very tender and juicy. Truffle Aburi Salmon Nigiri, creamy, flavoursome, refreshing, and yummy Aburi salmon nigiri with truffle is next level mouthwatering. Highly recommended. Matcha latte, such lovely and perfectly balanced matcha, makes it such a comforting drink. The service is prompt and attentive, and the staff here are all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The prices are very average considering their supreme quality of food. I’d definitely be coming back for their tasty and fantastic sushi and sashimi. And guys do visit @kaidiningmelbourne this week for a memorable, authentic and delectable Japanese feast with your friends/family.
