Grattan Gardens is absolutely gorgeous and such a versatile space! We attended a Fringe Festival event here, and it had a lovely garden party vibe, complete with a cute bar setup. Beyond the festival area, the gardens extend with plenty of open space, perfect for relaxing or exploring. Located in the heart of bustling Prahran, it’s surrounded by a vibrant scene with nearby cafes and restaurants, making it easy to grab a bite and then unwind in the park.
If you’re visiting during the Fringe Festival, this location is a fantastic choice. There’s a circus tent set up with various performances, from Granny Bingo (which we saw) to circus acrobatics. Definitely check out this spot, not only for the beautiful park but also for the work they’re doing to bring Melbourne’s art...

The northern area has a rotunda, two separate playgrounds with slides, swings and climbing areas and a outdoor gym has also recently been installed. Large mature trees create lots of well shaded areas as well as a large open area allowing plenty...

Also the community centre and bandstand up the way both appear to be offering free accommodation to anyone with a shopping trolley full of stench-ridden, piss-sodden clothing. A word of warning: they don't like free advice so keep your closed-minded opinions to yourself. The kids play areas are compact but abound with utility; bring your first-aid and/or arc-welding kits in case human or machine...
