Cafe Ella — Restaurant in Melbourne

Great little cafe with friendly staff. If you're going for lunch, make sure you get there before 1pm otherwise all the food will be sold and all that's left tends to be sandwiches and cakes. For some of the best food, order off the specials board rather than what's on display in the cabinet. From the menu, the lemongrass beef salad is my favourite, but the wonton soup is also delicious. Their cabinet menu changes according to the day of the week, for example every Wednesday they have Korean fried chicken, Thursdays they have Bahn Mi, etc., in addition to other curries, noodles, fried rice, etc. there's enough of a selection so that most people will find something they like. Not sure about vegan options though, but I feel like there may not be as many options. Fairly decent indoor seating, but tends to get busy...

Working nearby, Cafe Ella is our go to for coffee and lunch. First and foremost, the service is spectacular - all the staff are friendly and helpful and a special shout out to Sunny who not only remembers everyone's names but coffee orders too! Coffee is excellent and the food is delicious with great offerings from sandwiches and wraps to hearty curries, noodles and warm dishes. We went to this cafe with parents for coffee today and we had to wait for too long just for four coffee. Went to ask for them, they said it is coming, later went to see if staff forget which sometimes can happen but they were happily serving their new customers , I was just standing in the counter and staff they don’t even so concern 😕 and I had to ask them for third time ,, staff were really bad , no apologies nothing… felt really really...
