Black Sapphire St Kilda — Restaurant in Melbourne

Sadly, this was possibly one of the worst meals we have ever had. We ordered the seafood pasta and the philly cheeseburger, plus garlic bread and a serve of corn bread to start. The garlic bread arrived and we were told there was no corn bread, which was a shame but no drama. As it turned out, the garlic bread was the only reasonable thing that came out of the kitchen. The seafood pasta, which we were told would be that 'flat pasta' was almost certainly tinned spaghetti. The philly cheeseburger was only slightly better and then, strangely the missing corn bread appeared. It would have been better if it hadn't - it was very sweet and lumpy. We live locally and really sad that this can't be a good reliable pop in for dinner. The floor staff were trying their best and were very nice but they seemed overwhelmed. From the moment you walk in to the restaurant there is a certain ambience to the atmosphere. It gives an old comfort inn/bespoke vibe. The service by one of the owners cannot be faulted. But what was even better was the food. Our group of 5 patrons ordered the: Philly Cheese Steak Burger Seafood Pasta Garlic bread Jalapeño poppers; and Short Beef Ribs. All with the same review/comments which was it was amazing. From entry to exit the service, food and atmosphere should be the reason you give this restaurant a try.
