I came here after having heard beautiful things about this cafe that keeps prices down. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience today. I bought one slice of cake and one of tiramisu. Cakes are generally advertised as $4.50 per slice. I paid $9 and after a while (she took a while to serve me) the girl said to me that the tiramisu is actually $6 and I had to pay $2 extra. I said that this wasn't told to me before but she insisted so I paid, quite caught by surprise. I shouldn't have paid as that was her mistake. Moreover, portions aren't that generous so I feel that $6 for a take-away slice of tiramisu is quite expensive, and I've been ripped off, honestly. Thinking back, 6-4.50 = 1.50, not 2, so they even charged me extra. Very sad. I won't be back to try the famous $3-coffee as I don't want other bad surprises.

What a hidden gem in Carnegie! PROS *Excellent value. Half the price of what I would expect to pay elsewhere. *Really, really friendly staff. *Everything is made fresh to order. Pizza was delicious: soft dough base and piping hot topping. CONS *Not really a con. It’s a small kitchen. So you may need to wait a little. It’s not a generic, mass-production-line sandwich store like others nearby. Most definitely worth the wait.

I had an amazing experience at Cafe Perri in Carnegie! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the owner were friendly. Although I didn’t have the chance to try any food this time, everything on the menu looked fantastic, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try some dishes next time. The prices are incredibly reasonable, which is a huge bonus. Highly recommend this gem to anyone in the area!

Wow. I came for coffee, hadn’t read any reviews - just wanted a closer look at the new station architecture tbh - and I’m pleasantly surprised by my random selection! I can now see why this place is so highly rated!! In a city chock-full of over-priced coffee and under-paid staff, this is a literal tome-warp back to the early 2000’s when you could get a good 8oz coffee from friendly staff. The music playing was some kinda late 80’s Italo-pop that complemented the hand-made brownie and quirky little shop I’d expect to find in a more hip neighbourhood in an inner Melbourne suburb (no offence intended...

What an incredible find! Coffee is quality, food is quality and made with love. I’ve tried the pasta and pizza , both authentic , the prices are just so low! Incredible. The owner Jimmy is a breathe of fresh air, old school service always with a genuinely positive disposition. Salad rolls yum! Wine yum! Cheap beers! MUST visit this place. One visit for me and I’m now a regular. Thank you Jimmy for your hard work serving our community. Don’t ever quit being a selfless community minded person! You are a rare diamond! Enormous respect from your...
