Overall it's OK. In Melbourne for a week long work trip, staying at nearby View Hotel, this was one of the only places open early. Grabbed takeaway coffees, sweet treat and lunch option from here everyday. Staff are ok, friendly 'ish... can see how some reviews perceive them as not good. I think the staff are just task focussed, so while interact, take order, there's no real conversation, which I noticed was consistent with everyone, from early morning walkers grabbing a coffee, to tradies, and dressed up professional types, ut was all very matter of fact, transactional. The food selection early is limited, but calling in latero e day, the options and presentation is mind blowing. From fresh made still warm muffins to a huge selection of sweet treats and "toastie" style options. Plenty of seating and an overall clean well presented area for sitting and having coffee etc. Also a collection of free newspaper each day fir customers to peruse while waiting for coffee or sitting reading to catch up on the news. Good...

There is a reason it's attracted office goers from all the local office blocks as well as it's own for years. Pierre and team run a fantastic establishment, always friendly, they know a lot of their regulars by name and orders, always take the time to smile and greet even during the crazy busy lunch time. Large selection of yummy and interesting salads, wraps and sandwiches as well as daily hot food and a dine in menu also. It's just a challenge choosing from so much! But it does mean you can visit daily for lunch and never get bored.

The fact that if you turn up at 2.30 and it's slim pickings shows that they know their trade and food is fresh daily. Some people complaining about recent price increases need to realize that it's a direct result of inflation etc - they kept their prices consistent for ages, and it's a necessity. So relieved they survived the tough...

I have visited three times in 36 hours so let me tell you - it’s good.

I have had a coffee (delicious), breakfast (delightful) and two lunchtime salads (the selection available is amazing) from Cafe Safi and they were all top notch.

The staff smile nonstop and made me feel like a regular as soon as I walked through the doors. Nothing was too much trouble and they were more than happy to help with my dietary requirements and make suitable suggestions. Easy to talk to and extremely friendly, they really made me feel welcome and valued, both as a takeaway and dine in customer.

Going for a smoothie tomorrow morning, can’t friggin wait. Will be returning every year when I’m...

I was really looking forward to trying the risotto, but it turned out to be the worst I’ve ever had. It arrived at the last minute, was overly liquid, and tasted more like poached rice than a proper risotto. Considering how expensive it was, this was deeply disappointing. My friend ordered the butter chicken, and it was equally underwhelming—it didn’t do justice to the name. Overall, it felt like the kitchen was more interested in pushing plates out the door than in serving quality food. I won’t be back, and I can’t recommend this place to anyone.

Started off every morning here while visiting Melbourne on holiday! From the fresh morning pastries to the crisp salads and hearty sandwiches, Cafe Safi has MANY delicious offerings at great prices. The entire staff is very welcoming, friendly, and courteous. I'm not kidding when I say they make the BEST dirty chai latte around. Swing by Cafe Safi for either dine-in or take-away... you won't be disappointed.
