Century City Tavern — Restaurant in Melbourne

The amount of screens at this Tavern ensures a good variety of sports of choice which is awesome.

A few good snack options too however last night was disappointing. Nachos' were ordered and the description says that it comes with salsa, guacamole and sour cream. The Nachos' arrived without guacamole or sour cream. The reason this was the case was because they were low on sour cream and guacamole, which is fair enough however this should have been communicated before bringing out the dish or an alternative should've been offered/us not be charged the full price ($15).

Some guacamole was offered after I had asked and was told there was no more sour cream. Apparently it was the last of it.

Our drinks also did not arrive and we had to go up to the bar to ask for them. Our drinks were ordered before they stopped table service.

Still a great place for sports on a big screen but more communication would be...

Century City Tavern had a lively, upbeat vibe — exactly what you’d want for a sports pub out. The atmosphere was fantastic and the facilities were great but then came the Guinness… and wow.

There was so much foam I could’ve taken a bubble bath in the pint. To make it worse, I actually had to teach the bar attendant how to pour it properly. Me, the customer. Jeez. I read the comments and I know that this is not the first time. Don’t offer Guinness if your staff doesn’t know how to pour the damn thing. You wasted my money and my time teaching your staff how to do their job.

It’s not a niche craft beer — it’s Guinness. If you’re serving beer for a living, this should be fundamental. It didn’t ruin the night entirely, but it did leave a very sour note on what could’ve been a flawless experience.

Sort out the basics, train your staff properly, and this place would easily be five stars...

Horrible service from a staff member. An older staff member (woman), which i assume was a manager. We brought in outside food, not knowing that wasn't allowed, as 3 to 4 other tables that day brought in food from outside. We were yelled at from across the room in front of everyone.. what sort of staff member addresses her customers like that? She could have approached us and told us nicely that it wasn't allowed. She then went up to my mate and said outside drinks weren't allowed .. as tables LITERALLY in front of us had brought outside drinks.. if she wasn't so grumpy and rude she'd look less rancid and a fentanyl addict. However, the dude with the stash and puffy hair was really nice and chill, so shout out...
