Let me tell you about this hidden gem I stumbled upon in Melbourne, ChangGo Korean BBQ. Tucked away on La Trobe Street, it's easy to miss if you're not looking closely. But behind those big wooden doors with graffiti art splashed across them, there's a whole world of delicious Korean flavors waiting. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the staff were fantastic. They were super friendly and helpful, especially when it came to navigating the menu. Since I couldn't resist, I dove straight for their famous 8 Flavored Pork Belly. Let me tell you, the hype is real! The meat was cooked perfectly, juicy and tender, and each flavor was distinct and delicious. It was a flavor explosion in my mouth! The whole experience was pretty casual, which is exactly what I was in the mood for. The place isn't fancy, but it has a cool vibe, and the staff definitely add to that. Just be warned, like any good Korean BBQ spot, you might leave smelling a bit like grilled goodness, but hey, that's part of the charm, right? Overall, ChangGo was a fantastic find. Great food, awesome staff, and a fun atmosphere. I'll definitely be back for more soon!

If you're craving an authentic Korean BBQ experience, look no further than Chango. Nestled in the CBD, this restaurant offers a delightful culinary journey that will tantalize your taste buds. Upon entering Chango, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior is stylish yet cozy, with traditional Korean decor that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. The star of the show at Chango is, of course, the BBQ. The menu features a wide variety of high-quality meats, including beef, pork, all of which are marinated to perfection. The BBQ is brought to your table, where you have the opportunity to grill it yourself, adding a fun and interactive element to your meal. The service at Chango is impeccable, with attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to make your dining experience enjoyable. Overall, Chango is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience authentic Korean BBQ. From the delicious food to the welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant has it all. Make sure to add Chango to your list of dining destinations you won't be disappointed.

The staffs here are super helpful and infotmative. We ordered beef set in which there is kimchi soup as a part of the set. When we ordered we already asked them whether they had pork or not. They said clear. Then, come another staff that serve the kimchi soup that has pork belly. At the moment he stunned, he realized that most of us wears hijab so we are not allowed to eat pork. He is very helpful to re-make the soup from scratch and give us suggestion to order ala carte menu next time we visit ChangGo. Besides, there is a staff who also helpful to cut our beef since we are very clumsy to operate the scissor. Aside from that, the food here is delicious, the rice is excellent, salad dressing in the takoyaki is very good. We are also amazed by the visual of takoyaki, taste good looks wonderful. So we are agreed to recommend this place to you. What a nice dinner we had here!

Beef rib was average, marinated beef rib lacks flavour compared to the kbbq I have in Sydney, side dishes were the only good thing , that’s about it. Service was bad . I Was the second customer here for dinner so can’t say it was too busy for better service. they said they sold out of the soondubu tofu soup stew but how can that be, if I’m the 2nd customer here for dinner ? Also I ordered a plain rice which took 20 minutes to come out. Surely it doesn’t take that long for a plain rice which I asked for them twice. They don’t even have the cold Noodles(Nengmyun 냉면) on the menu which is a basic dish always with Korean bbq. I think this is more catered to non Koreans because it’s not authentic very different to kbbq in Sydney and in Korea. Overrated Korean bbq don’t know why there’s so much hype here. Wouldn’t come back especially for the long queues.

First time trying Korean BBQ. This place is walk in only so we turned up 30 min early to check it out which was lucky because soon after we arrived more people began to line up. The atmosphere is so cosy. The service staff very polite and helpful which is great to see. We had the BBQ for 2 and ordered extra rice and meats. I really enjoyed all little side condiments such as picked onions, cucumber and radish (I think it was) we had the Waygu beef and pork. The meat was delish! So tender and flavourful. We also had some amazing cheese sticks and cheese and corn. The Kimchi soup was nice but a bit too spicy for me so I had only one small bowl. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I’m glad we came to this restaurant and tasted some of the flavours of the famous KOREAN BBQ!! I would definitely try it again.

Excellent korean bbq and extremely popular. We arrived at 6.30pm on a Friday and got a table immediately but shortly after, the restaurant was full and a queue formed outside. There was still a queue when we left at around 8.30pm. Service was top notch and all the bbq meats that we ordered were so tasty (wagyu sirloin, ox tongue, pre-cooked pork belly, pork belly and marinated pork neck). Kimchi soup, jap chae and seafood pancake were very delicious as well. The staff helped to cook the meat for us and the grill was changed after every item was cooked. While the wagyu was not as tender as japanese wagyu, it was still tender and full of beef flavour! Price is quite reasonable too considering the portion sizes. Unfortunately am only staying in Melbourne CBD for 3 nights. Would have loved to revisit.
