ORDERED: 🍞 Taro Korean Lollipop Toast: Taro powder, taro sauce, almonds, bingsoo's signature cream ($9.99) 🍞 Biscoff Almond Lollipop Toast: Crumbs, biscoff sauce, almonds, bingsoo's signature cream ($9.99) 🍨 Oppa-Time (baby): Oppa time crumbs, chocolate honeycomb pieces, oppa-time sauce and bingsoos' signature cream ($9.99)

It was $33.65 which included card surcharge and service fee ($3.00).

REVIEW: 😎 Competition is rife in the CBD for dessert toasts and bingsu. It's not something new, but Bingsoo is in a great location close Melbourne Central and an interesting flavour: oppa-time.

✨ Favourite: The Oppa-Time bingsu. I hadn't seen this flavour before, so I was keen to try it out. It's like a golden gaytime with the chocolate honeycomb flavour so I really enjoyed this. I would try getting this on toast instead because I think the flavours would be better. 🍯 The condensed milk it came with seemed a little bit too watery, compared to the textures of other establishments.

❌ Not so greats: The taro korean lollipop toast. We came on grand opening night, so perhaps this isn't the standard. However, my experience was that the the signature cream was too overpowering. I didn't have a big bite but the cream was so cloying that seemed to clog our throats. I'd consider laying it thinner. The pricing of the lollipop toasts. For $10.00 and one stick, it isn't competitive. There's another establishment (❄🌙 IYKYK) that sells it for $11.90 for two pieces.

Service was efficient on grand opening day, with tables being cleared asap. The staff were working hard! As a customer, when you're seated and ready, you can view and order through the QR code. 🍋 Lemon infused water was self serve near the claw machine, although they did try to squish people onto tables in an effort to see as many as possible.

There's lots of potential for Bingsoo, but standing out as a dessert joint will be tough hill to...

Not usually one for sweets, I can't believe how good this place was! With 10 flavours of bingsoo, alongside savoury or sweet Korean desserts, they are 100% halal certified, vegetarian friendly, and do not skimp on size or taste.

Seriously the mix of sweet yet savoury shokupan bread on all the toasts and lollipops, plus the loaded toppings of the bingsu breaking up any overly sweet vibes, these desserts are perfect for dinner or after dinner.

The crispy beef bacon on the Egg, Avo & Beef Bacon Savoury Toast was more like jerky but packed intense salted flavour that in lieu of the real thing was a great addition, saving $1 by adding avo to the beef bacon and not the other way around haha!

And honestly can you ever have too much shokupan? I think not! The Strawberry Sweet Toast was loaded with strawberry sauce, cream and added mango pieces on an entire loaf of bread and the Biscoff Almond Lollipop Toast had a lot less going on in the best way.

The buldak sauce on the Hot Cheese Corn Dog was insanely good and not something that would have rated high on my list until now.

But it was the Taro Red Bean bingsu that was the best part - the taro flavour was strong without being overpowering and suggested to me that they use a high quality powder. The added strawberry and mango mochi, red bean and signature cream was the perfect amount of sweet and just that right amount of savoury and was loaded throughout (not just on top like some bingsu I've tried). If your eyes are bigger than your stomach, it comes in a...

Hidden Surcharges, Poor Service, Poor Quality Food, and Literally Unripe Fruit served. Unfortunately I don't think the 5 star ratings on google are accurate to the quality and service of this joint. My friends and I went, and one of us ordered Nutella Dutch pancakes, another ordered Strawberry Cheesecake Bingsu, and I ordered Banana and Strawberry Nutella Waffles. We used the QR code to order, and my friend and I got hit with a massive additional $5 "service fee" surcharge on top of the advertised price, but our other friend did not get charged any surcharge. When we went up to question this inconsistent fee - staff were unhelpful and did not clearly explain why we got a fee but our friend did not? We decided to swallow our pride and pay anyway, but our food also wasn't even nice. I legitimately got given Unripe Strawberries on my waffles, like, entirely white strawberries cut up and drizzled in Nutella 😭🤣 I can't even make it up, The berries were hard, and inedible. I asked the staff to give me some ripe ones, and they said sorry their manager ordered these berries they were all they could use, and showed me their bucket of white, unripe berries that they have been serving to everyone 🤣 They gave me some mango instead, but didn't take my food to reserve it, they just gave me a bowl of mango to replace the unripe Strawberries with Honestly, one of the worst dessert experiences I've had in my life - and so whack that this place is so highly rated. Honestly...
