I had an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience at this so called The Lounge Beauty Co Salon at their Melbourne Central branch , particularly with the lady with short hair, who was not only arrogant but also shockingly rude.
I visited the salon two days in a row, and both times I was made to wait for over 45 minutes — despite being told over the phone that it was a walk-in service. On the second day, I called ahead to confirm and book waxing appointment for just arms , and she said I could come for waxing but might have to wait. I agreed, showed up, and waited patiently — again.
When it was finally my turn, she asked me to go into the room and wait. I thought I was next. Instead, I watched her skip me and start doing eyebrows for another lady who had arrived after me. When I confronted her, she claimed that the other lady had a prior appointment — which was clearly not true, as that woman had also been waiting and had no booking from what I observed.
When I pointed this out, she became defensive and rude, saying that eyebrows “only take 3 minutes” and I should understand. If it’s truly walk-in, then fairness and basic courtesy should apply — not selective priority.
To make matters worse, she told me I was wasting her time — no apology, no professionalism. Just disrespect. What’s even more upsetting is how differently she treated other clients (she being Indian herself) — particularly non-Indians — with far more patience and politeness. It’s disappointing to see someone treat their own community so poorly while bending over backwards to be polite to others. It’s a huge shame on her .
More over through walk-ins , these salon guys make huge business as they don’t want to tell “NO” to anyone in order to get maximum bucks , where us customers end up wasting our time by endlessly waiting and get blamed that we did not book an appointment.
I strongly advise against visiting this salon or getting any services done by this lady. The experience left me feeling frustrated, and disrespected and i ended by wasting my time on both days. There are many better salons in and around Melbourne CBD that value customers’ time and treat people with...
Read moreI had a really unpleasant experience here. I did not check reviews or anything prior to going there. I regularly get lash lift done somewhere else and I get amazing results, however the lash tech is a bit far away and I was in a rush that day so I decided to come somewhere nearby. The lash lift I got (without tinting) was $60, which I thought was a reasonable price. But after the service I do not feel the same way anymore.
Before they started, I didn’t get to look at the material they were using. But after they were finished, I saw that the product they used was similar to those lash lift kit I can find on AliExpress.
When they were doing my lashes. I was asked to sit on a chair when they were doing it. They were doing it so aggressively on my lashes, the hands were all over my face and I could feel the fingers digging into my eyeball. I tolerated it because maybe it’s difficult to do it on the chair. But they also put glue on my forehead, and that’s when I confronted them and ask why would put products on my forehead. The lady responded no I didn’t put anything on your forehead and proceeded to wipe it off with a wet cotton pad. When it ended the lady just used a wet cotton pad to wipe the chemicals off, it touched most of the skin near my eye area
After it was done, some of the lashes were glued to my eyelids. The lady decided to put vaseline all over my eyelids. I was in a hurry to go to work so I didn't want to make a big deal out of it because the lashes looked fine after she attempted to fix them. I paid and she told me to not use any eye makeup and avoid touching water, which I followed.
I woke up just now to see that almost all of my lashes have gone down. I feel very disappointed, will never go back again.
Update: I have contacted them a long time ago and Ithey still didn't get back to me yet it’s...
Read moreVery friendly staff, sadly lots of miscommunication in my experience :( I asked for henna brows to test out a semi permanent brow before I get microblading next year. We talked it through, they up-sold me to a lash lift and tint too (fine, happy to get it) but I was mainly concerned about the brows. We talked through colour of henna etc. then when I got in the chair a different person took over and I think that’s where it went awry.. I ended up having very uneven messy tint. My brows were REALLY outside of my brow shape so they were quite large for my style and had strange gaps. I was a bit concerned with no mark ups or discussion of preferred shape, but thought they would be ok because the threading and set up looked really profesh. I rang afterwards to say hey, how long does henna last, I’m not sure I got henna but if I did it’s not great? (Henna was more expensive too) and they said no you got henna, it will last 3-5 weeks. I was worried about how I would fill in the gaps with pencil / contemplating seeing a different therapist to fix it but it’s day three and they’re almost gone! I had tint. But was charged for henna :( really disappointing before Xmas and holidays. FYI too, threading really hurts if you’ve never had it before! Little heads up...
