Chatime Spencer Street — Restaurant in Melbourne

I have never experienced such an aggressive staff today in this store!! There’s a male and female guy working, the male guy who’s been calling people for drinks called my name and literally in seconds I was there. But seeing that there was no large premium milk tea on the table, i thought it was for another Kristine. Waited waited and waited and after many customers after me have gotten their drinks I asked. He blamed me immediately for not coming when he called and that the Wendy customer took my drink by mistake. The girl before me (again i was there seconds after he called my name), had 3 drinks all in orangey color none of it large and by mistake he did an extra one (which obv wasnt a large milk tea). I dont know what’s gotten into him when he said he’ll make another i said it’s fine but he kept putting the blame in very aggressive manner high and loud tone and all attitude in front of others and kept going back to how he now has to make another tea. I couldn’t believe it instead of even apologising for the delay he started calling me prick in front of the others when i asked for refund and started attacking me again. So i took a video and it made him stop and the lady immediately gave me refund since i now asked for it after being treated this way. Would never recommend this store ever to anyone. That guy deserves to be fired. I’ll forward a formal complaint to head office as sure as hell that’s not the way of treating customers and im sure if they check CCTV they’ll find out that that drink was never ever been made in the...

#1 Chatime in Australia!

I have been with Chatime since it has been founded in Melbourne/Sydney 2009, and since the grand opening of Spencer Street 2022 it has been the best store!

Summary from my review: Brewing drinks super fast (just be patient, most of the time your order is slow because they have 10 other drinks ahead of you, 1st in 1st service or your drink has many concepts added. REMEMBER it is made from ingredients, not poured out of a premixed bottle)

3x Kiosk machine for faster order (good for those who wants to submit their order quickly and give the staff time to brew the drinks and let the order submit by itself)

Staff great customer service (too many rude customers giving them hard time and then giving bad reviews. REMEMBER you are buying drinks, not wanting extra service)

All drinks on the menu are made exactly as ordered (most customers believe that it does not taste how it should be. What are they comparing it to? Starbucks? No it is Chatime)

App Orders are great (do not blame the store for Chatime App for not doing what it is not supposed, write a Chatime complaint to the company itself, not the store)

OVERALL: The staff there is great, drinks are made as what they are ordered.

I wanted to get some bubble tea on the way to the airport, hence I checked the opening time the night before and the website specified 9am. I arrived at 9:45am and was informed they only open at 10am and the website must not have been updated, this was really annoying since I was heading to the airport next hence I was on a tight schedule. I decided to wait till 10am and I placed my order only to be informed that I couldn't add any pearls to my drink which is going to take another 15 or so mins to finish cooking. That was just ridiculous, how does a bubble tea store not have any pearls available as they open?
