An update on my review. Honestly I was very happy with the service in the beginning but now a days things are just not great.
I'm a regular client. As I work in Melbourne Central mall I was getting a 5% discount on the food that I was ordering. It's definitely not a big discount but at least I was getting something. I even bought my co-worker from my work place telling that its great food and gets discount since we are working in this mall. But when I went few days back they Krishna who's working there told me they don't give discounts any more im not sure if it's because we were regular with them? ๐คทโโ๏ธ
They don't provide us anything, when we go for lunch. things like spoon, fork, glass, water tissue ext. You will have to go and take it or do it by yourself even when they free and not busy. Especially when we sit outside right in front of the restaurant. And when I went to get an extra glass of water a bird came and started eating my food. There's lot of bird ๐ฆ flying inside the restaurant. So at least the staff should help the costumers who are coming alone so that they will not face a problem like this. I also asked Krishna (the staff) to give me a bottle of water that was filled and kept there and he told he can't give during lunch time and that's the policy. And honestly he doesn't know to talk to the costumers nicely. There is another girl as well with the same attitude I do t know her name. ๐๐๐
I wanted a half portion of chicken 65 with the roti. As I'm alone I can't finish the whole portion. Also I can't pack and take it home as I'm going back to work again in the same mall and the food will be spoilt by the time I reach home after my work. And the staff told me that I need take a combo deal to get a half portion. And when I checked the deal it already comes with too many food and on top of that if I order this again it will be too much for a single person to finish the food. It's a good deal for 2 or more people. The deal is already 20$ and chilli Chicken is again a 20$. ๐๐๐
I'm really unhappy and unsatisfied by their approach and dealing ๐. I have talked about this to one of their staff and I hope they will make some changes.
(Old review) The food is just amazing. Iโm so happy that I found the best biryani. Felt like I was in Bangalore. There is a favourite biriani place in Bangalore and this biryani taste just like that. ๐ฅฐ And special thanks to sathya. He is really sweet, takes extra good care for...
ย ย ย Read moreI have visited Chilli India in Melbourne Central on three to four occasions, and while I have found their Chicken Dum Biryani to be tasty, the overall hygiene and cleanliness have been consistently disappointing. My review focuses on the lack of cleanliness and poor hygiene practices, which I believe are a management issue rather than the fault of the staff.
On two different occasions, the same staff member who brought our food had his fingers in the curry we ordered. Yesterday, I had to point this out to him, and while he apologised, he did the exact same thing when he brought another dish. Prior to that, my family and I saw him cleaning a table and collecting leftover waste from previous customers with his bare hands, only to serve food shortly after. Additionally, the staff member had a strong body odor, likely due to poor uniform provisions, which further added to the overall discomfort
To make matters worse, on the same day, another staff member was holding freshly washed cutlery while blowing her nose into a tissue. This was deeply concerning and left us with a negative impression. .
It is shocking that a restaurant operating out of Melbourne Central can maintain such poor hygiene standards and seemingly go unnoticed by food inspectors. In contrast, all other restaurants in the same complex appear clean and well-maintained.
I generally do not leave negative reviews for any business, but in this case, I feel compelled to do so because establishments like this should not be allowed to operate.
As an Indian, I find it embarrassing to see restaurants like this tarnishing the reputation of Indian cuisine and hospitality. This is not about blaming the staffโit is clear that they receive little to no proper training. Management should be ashamed for allowing such conditions to persist.
My family and I will never be returning, and I strongly advise others to think twice before...
ย ย ย Read moreI am dissatisfied with the manager or supervisor of Indian descent who wears a black shirt, glasses, and is overweight and bald. He prioritizes Uber Eats orders and dine-in customers. However, when it comes to DoorDash orders, he deliberately delays the preparation. Every time I pick up food for DoorDash, I have to wait up to 30 minutes. This restaurant does not prioritize DoorDash orders.
When I asked why DoorDash orders are always slow, the manager rudely responded and blamed DoorDash, saying it was not his problem. I further asked why DoorDash orders are always delayed and why Uber Eats is prioritized when both are their customers. He replied that it is a DoorDash problem, not his.
I want to inform DoorDash that this staff member is blaming the company and saying the issue is with DoorDash. Why is DoorDash always placed behind Uber Eats? The staff member said it's not his problem, even though DoorDash is also their customer. I requested him to prepare DoorDash orders as quickly as Uber Eats orders, but he still insisted it was DoorDashโs problem, not his.
I also mentioned that the delay for DoorDash is not good. I don't have suitable parking, and he said that is not his problem. Can an employee respond like that?
I am very angry with his rude responses. As a manager, he should answer better and not blame DoorDash. The top management at Chili India Melbourne Central needs to take strict action against this manager because he is unfit for the job. His rudeness in dealing with customers and blaming DoorDash is unacceptable. Please do something about this overweight, bald manager or supervisor, as he is not fit...
