Wonderful food. We had spicy tofu poke bowl with soba noodles, vegan chicken katsu curry with rice and chickpea massaman curry with roti. So good. Second visit - we had the special ‘rice and two curry’ option; Thai laksa with tofu and udon noodles; and drunken udon noodles with vegan chicken. The flavours were, once again, extraordinary. The food in Cookatoo is truly exceptional and definitely not just for those following a vegan diet. Our party was a mix of plant-based diet enthusiasts and committed carnivores and everyone was equally impressed with the taste and quality of all the dishes. Portions are also really generous and beautifully presented. I cannot recommend Cookatoo highly enough. Visit three! We had nam tok salad with tofu and udon soup with gyoza, which we shared. Stunning flavours yet again. Planning next visit already. Back again for more. So tasty yet again. Owners are a lovely Thai couple who prepare and serve this wonderful food always with smiles on their faces. Final visit before our return to Ireland. Amazing again. This time we shared the yom salad with tofu and the lentil Penang curry with tofu and coconut rice. We also had two cups of Jasmine tea. We will miss Cookatoo so much. Spread the word. This food...

THIS PLACE DESERVES 5 STARS AND ALL CAPS!! I just moved to the area and felt I hadn’t “found my favourite place” yet. I stumbled upon cockatoo kitchen just scrolling around on maps. I’m so happy I did. Why?

The food, is absolutely, truly, full of flavour and taste. Compared to other spots I’ve visited in the area in a similar category, most of which are good - but kind of all fall into the same kind of quick takeaway familiar tasting Asian foods.

Now, since discovering cockatoo kitchen, I’ve had their laksa, tofu satay, lentil curry, roti bread and coconut rice and each time I’m equally as satisfied and just so happy with the food.

The volume of food is great. The price is amazing - especially their $12 lunch deals!!! The service is great. The venue is small, but cozy. I get more of a takeaway vibe from here though.

Honestly, I wish this business all the success so they continue to flourish and I can keep ordering from here! I’d be devastated to lose such a good food spot.

It looks like it’s just a couple or something who run it together, I noted how many 5 star reviews they had and thought I wanted to suss it out to investigate whether or not it held up - it does. I...

Wow. Well honestly I'm usually apprehensive about vegan places, if it will be tasty and if it will be filling. And I don't have an expectation that it's necessarily healthy food either. E.g a deep fried potato is vegan but not healthy. This food is so on point and better then many other Asian restaurants that serve meat. I'm also not a vegan so hopefully that in itself says enough. The tom yum is a flavour explosion. I don't think I've had even a regular (non vegan) tom yum that good before. I was delighted to see the fresh herbs being used. AND in addition the prices were incredibly fair! Especially for the quality and uniqueness of this food. I have paid a lot more for a lot less. You would be doing yourself an injustice by not coming here. I'll typically eat anything that's put in front of me with limited complaints, but I know I'm very particular about flavour balances, texture and creativity of food and how I want things to taste. I really loved this place and it was a...

Cockatoo is a hidden gem! This small, cosy, couple-run restaurant is an absolute delight. The decor is wonderfully quirky, with a charming chaos of menus and items adorning the walls – it's a feast for the eyes before you even taste the food! As a plant-based venue, Cookatoo offers a fantastic range of Southeast Asian dishes, primarily Thai-inspired, with a great selection of protein options, from traditional choices to meat alternatives and legumes. The flavours are always spot-on, clearly made with fresh ingredients and a real passion for cooking. You can tell they don't rely on pre-made sauces or flavour packets. I've eaten here countless times and have never been disappointed. The restaurant is clean, the food is fresh, and the staff consistently go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. If you're looking for delicious, authentic, and satisfying plant-based food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, Cookatoo is a must-try!
