Courthouse Hotel — Restaurant in Melbourne

Today ( 2025 June 10 )in between 11 30 and 11 50 AM a terrible incident happened with me at this venue…I was losing money in one of the new machines and as soon as I ran out of credit , I decided to switch the machine next to me..It was empty.. I placed a reserve sign and went for cash out..when I took out the money and was walking through the common area, an African guy straight away shouted at me , “ Don’t play the middle machine ..It’s mine”.. I had already placed a green reserve sign on it..You can even review your CCTV footage around that time. I will add a receipt of my cashout time so that you can see for urself.. I told him that It’s reserved under my name and I put 50 dollars in it..He came straight at me and threatened me to leave the machine..I swear to god I was scared for my life.. if I had resisted, he could have beaten me or who knows what he could have done. I asked the manager to review the CCTV footage which she did and told me I was right and he was wrong…I am never ever going back here..Not because the staffs are rude or anything…They are very welcoming n supportive but the community isn’t safe anymore…I literally felt like crying …Never been this...

Small venue, only a few pokie machines to choose from. Have had some really bug wins there and the place Can get busy at times. Unfortunately had more than just a few people ask me for money when I’ve been playing. Then stand their awkwardly next to you, giving unwanted advice about how to play the machine you’re on making me put a reserved sign up and walk away for a min so that they leave me alone.. This venue don’t give out any complimentary drinks to players (not even soft drinks) you have to pay for them, unlike other venues that give out free drinks to customers playing on in their pokie machines, whom are more than likely losing... this venue has a small outdoor smoking area and the entrance out front is pretty big if you are wanting to smoke in a more open space. The area surrounding this venue could understandably be unnerving at night due it not having sufficient lighting. It’s located only 5 mins walking distance from footscray station and only 2-3 mins from quite a few bus stops which have routes that travel throughout a lot of the inner west suburbs of Melbourne. Also walking distance to tram stops that travel frequently to and from Highpoint...

Good friendly people the only problem is it's a bit dark inside the back bar where the pool tables are other then that great they even offer a free sausage babie every Sunday morning all are well Kylie is a wonderful manager and the stuff are the same the Beer is the best in the area that's why workers intend to drink their it is also a rather safe and Secure bulding to be in all regular s are a great bunch of flowers my name is Charlie wheeler a long time resident here...
