Before going to Ciroq, I took the time to go on review websites and even ask around to understand their rules on the dress code. I arrived with a small group of friends for an 18th birthday list, only to wait in line and be called âunderdressedâ by a rude and obnoxious Bouncer and told to âget out of the lineâ. I was wearing a Tommy Hilfiger shirt, Pal Zileri pants and Paciotti shoes, as well as being well groomed and clean shaven. We were quietly talking amongst ourselves whilst waiting and behaving completely appropriately. Ironically, when asked what was wrong with this dress code, the security guard patrolling the front of the club had said that he felt I was dressed perfectly fine. If you appreciate being solely and promptly judged by one pair of eyes, then this is the club for you.
What makes it further disappointing is the fact I was unable to spend a good night with my friend on her 18th, which as everyone understands is a very special occasion. Moreover, when she asked to let us in, she received a rude ânoâ and told to go back upstairs.
Iâd like for you all to consider placing yourselves in my position, and understand that it is a really unpleasant and saddening feeling. There are an abundance of night clubs in the city, and I believe it would make for a far better night out if you were to consider the other clubs around. I was surprised to find no positive reviews online, and unfortunately, I didnât take the other negative reviews into consideration as I believed they were isolated incidents. However, this certainly is not the case! I would encourage everyone to not dismiss these reviews as it would be in your advantage to save yourself this trouble and go elsewhere.
It is clear that we cannot change Ciroqâs presumptuous attitude, but it is important to spread the message that if you are considering going out, then it would be very advisable to reconsider this club as an option for you and your friends, to ensure you spend a good night out with out a dispirited...
Read moreWent to Flamingo Club opening night with free entry and enjoyed the place...looked new and clean. But when I went there last Au day and it was filled over capacity and was a terrible experience.
Firstly entry costs 20 DOLLARS !! Absolutely ridiculous, the only places that I know of that cost that much are in crown casino and they are fancy.
Secondly the bouncers and door girls were rude and unhelpful. My friend and I were on different list and they wouldn't let my mate in because he wasn't accompanied by the person on whose list he was on...isnt that the point of a list so everyone can rock up when they want , say the name and then go in? But no that's not how this place works đ
Thirdly, once finally inside the club it was alright to begin with. There was a girl serving free hotdogs (keeping in mind it was the night before Au day so I dont think that would happen normally)and the place was, as per my 1st visit, clean and modern. But this time it was very over crowded and the dancefloor was spilling out to both the bars on each side to the point that even when ordering drinks there were other practically dancing on top of me (well not really dancing because there wasn't enough room to)/jumping up and down just like a rave. Also the music was very loud so having a conversation was impossible and the club itself was all just one open area so there was no separate rooms for talking or with couches and tables to talk to people. There is a smokers area with cafe style tables and chairs where the roof was open for ventilation but it should've really been separated with a wall of some sort instead of being a few meters away from the bar and dance floor. So all in all flamingo club is just an expensive and over crowded rave party that appears flashy and upper class to trick people into joining the long line at the front...
Read moreThis is the worst club I have ever been to. WARNING do not go to this club. The staff were very rude. They kicked me out, even though I did nothing wrong and believe me I would be the first to admit if I had genuinely done something wrong. They claimed that I was intoxicated (I litteraly did nothing I was just dancing on the dance floor with everybody else) There was no reasoning a staff member just forcibly grabbed me, took me out the back (even though I asked to leave out the front entrance as I did not want to be deposited in some dodgy lane way alone, rather than the main road. But this intimidating man would not listen to reason.
I cried the whole way home, I was so angry.
I've been to so many clubs and pubs across the world and have never experienced such unimaginable treatment. I feel shaken to the core. Please do yourself a favour and go to any other club but this one. Unless you want to be abused. There are so many good clubs in Melbourne and this is without a doubt not one of them. I simply cannot express anymore how bad...
