Had Yum cha yesterday, and I was really surprised by the cost. Normally, it would only cost around $350 plus for 8 people, but this time we had to pay almost $600! The food was good, but I think I'll try other yum cha places in the city next time. On top of that, the booking time was limited to only an hour, which is ridiculous. It used to be an hour and a half per session, but not anymore (unless the booking is for the last available session before the restaurant closes at 3:00)
To make things worse, we had a really baffling experience with one of the waiters. We had booked for 10 people, but two of our friends couldn't make it. When I asked the waiter if we could keep the extra bowls and cutlery, he just kept insisting that we only needed 8 sets because there were only 8 of us. I was so confused and annoyed! Why couldn't they just leave them? We might need them later, and it's not like they were in a hurry to clear the table for the next booking. It was a pretty tense moment, and I just gave up in the end because I didn't want to ruin our lunch. I've never had this issue with any other restaurant before, and I think the management should look into this attitude issue with their waitstaff. It's not good customer service to insist on taking away items that...

The service is impeccableāeasily the best Iāve experienced in a Chinese restaurant. The staff are attentive, friendly, and incredibly efficient, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.
Unlike traditional trolley-style Yum Cha, Crystal Jade uses a check-box menu system. The food arrives fresh, fast, and piping hot, and every dish we tried was a winner. The dumplings were a standoutāsuper fresh, packed with flavour, and perfectly crafted. A special mention goes to the goose liver pastry, which was unbelievably good. The flaky pastry and rich, hoisin-like gravy created a dish we couldnāt stop talking about.
The decor is pleasant and comfortable, making it a great spot for a casual lunch or a more special occasion. And with very reasonable pricing for the quality of food and service, itās hard to fault. Crystal Jade is now one of our Yum Cha favourites, and we canāt recommend it...
