Cucina Plenty Valley — Restaurant in Melbourne

My partner and I went to Cucina for dinner around 7pm on 14/04/22. We ordered immediately after a table of 3 that we had been seated next too.

The table of 3 then proceeded to receive their food, get checked on and have their table cleared all while we sat and waited.

There were three wait staff standing around who had not checked on us at all for 25 minutes. Our original waitress then came over and said "Oh I’m going to check on your food". She then forgets, continued to clean and seat other customers.

I then flagged down another waiter to ask if we could at least get our drinks. A few minutes later our drinks arrived with an apology that the ticket didn’t go through. We continued to wait another 20 minutes for our food. By this point other customers had arrived, ordered, eaten and left while we continued to wait unchecked on and no dinner.

Then original waiter who had seated us comes over, apologised again that the food ticket hadn’t gone through and our food would be another 5 to 10 minutes away.

What a joke. Almost an hour sitting there with no quality service and no food.

This was after the original waitress said she’d check on our meals and had not. All they could say was sorry we have been busy. Left without receiving food. Really disappointing. The customer service was disgusting Won’t...

We started with the full rack of pork ribs, which was tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. The glaze was just right — not overly sweet — and paired beautifully with the generous portion of crispy fries and a fresh side salad that added a refreshing balance to the meal. Next came the tropical pizza and it was absolutely delicious. The crust was perfectly baked with a great balance of crunch and chew. The toppings were fresh — sweet pineapple, savory ham all came together with melted cheese for that classic sweet-savory combo that just works. The highlight of the meal was definitely the seafood pasta. Cooked al dente, the pasta was tossed in a light yet flavorful sauce and generously topped with fresh mussels, prawn, scallops, baby clams, calamari and fish. Every bite was a taste of the sea, and the portion size was very satisfying without being overwhelming. The service was warm and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere made it a perfect spot for a relaxed dinner. Im currently at the plenty valley location having a late lunch / early dinner and I just wanted to pass on some live feedback as things happen.

Just received the arancini, it was nice, but not the best arancini I've had... probably give it a 6 out of 10. Honestly, too cheesy, not enough garlic aioli to break it up.

Currently eating the lamb shoulder and its yum! I would give it maybe an 8 out 10. I don't know how you could improve it, but I think its just that everything on the plate tastes like lamb, including the potatoes and tomato. Somehow breaking up the meal would make it better.

But the absolute star of the day is Simone, the waitress/hostess! I was umming and ahhhhing about whether or not I should eat here, but her incredibly approachable and friendly attitude sold me on the place.

She was so attentive, incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the food here, I would come back just for her service alone.
