Read more15/4/23 After my excellent experiences with this cafe in 2021, brought a group of 10 there for dinner. Sadly, although the food is still excellent, the customer service has deteoriated to abysmal. The lovely proprietor Julie wasn't there and the staff were very reluctant to inform me when I can speak to her. I had booked a table for 10 on 11/4. I spoke to Yenny and told her specifically that we want to sit outdoors. I made sure she understood my request by making her repeat back to me my request for an outdoor table. When we arrived a table was reserved for us indoors. I proceeded to speak to a middle aged woman staff who kept insisting we sit inside which to me is terrible customer service. I demanded to speak to Yenny who then agreed that we had a booking for 10 for an outside table and set it up there and then. Customers shouldn't be forced to sit indoors when they had specifically requested to sit outdoors. We then ordered our dishes together. However, the dishes came out very slowly with some at the table being served before others. I also noticed that those who came later than us got their meals served before us. That is so unacceptable. I had to confront Yenny again to request for our meals. I have eaten at many cafes and this is about one of the worst experience of being served in this manner. I asked when I could speak to the lovely proprietor Julie but was told she will not be available on Sunday as she is at church and is not around on weekdays. I am shocked at the almost non existent customer service and the deterioration of this cafe like this. Thankfully the food is still nice or I would have downgraded this cafe's rating to 1 star.
6/2021Excellent chendol, excellent satay and rice cakes at D'Penyetz & D'Chendol. Reminiscent of my great grandmother's home cooking.Absolutely love this place. Very friendly and good service. Nothing is too hard for them. The proprietor has a smile and remembers the customer's names. This...

I've been here for a couple of times now. Here's my review when i have dine in and take away experience.
Dine In Service: pretty nice. Even always in a rush, but quiet well to organise our food. Food & beverage: we ordered grilled fish, ayam penyet, sayur asem, ayam geprek. I really love the taste because it is one of the Indonesia restaurant that serves near-to-original taste of Indonesian food. The sambal was so good. The fish not fishy. Sayur asem taste good and has near authentic sayur asem fragrant. The chicken was nice and crispy, taste nice too. Oh, we also ordered the es cendol. For me, i dont like the cendol, its way too sweet for me and the cendol it self taste not fresh at all. So busy to dine in. The place's not so big but they have a lot of seats inside.
Take away: since our dine in experience, we decided to go for take away. The staff was quite nice, but too rush answering and taking our questions and answers. I was asking if they're included the salad and the chili paste (sambal) as well inside the fish grill that i purchased, and they said yes. When im arrived at home and opened it, it is just a plain grilled fish with a slice of lemon. At this point, i am disappointed.
Place : 3.5. small place, pretty tight seat setting. Food : 5. We ordered sayur asam, ayam penyet original and ikan bakar bali. Taste amazing! One of the best in town. Remind me our hometown. Beverage : 3.5. we ordered cendol and coconut water. The cendol is not like the way we're expected. It is too sweet and the cendol it self a bit hard to chew. It should be gooey. And the coconut water is too plain. Clean : 5. Service : 5.
Overall, we are happy to have our dinner here and absolutely will come for...
