The owner (i assumed it was the owner) really needs to change his attitude. I felt treated disrespectful from beginning to leaving.
You guys dont really have to read the whole text but for those who are interested ill describe the whole experience:
First things first: I came inside with a smile and said hello - i barely got one back, just a grumpy face from owner and his wife I assume.
I ordered a chicken kebab and the next customer a lamb kebab. He started cutting the lamb kebab first which is surely ok to me. He took most of them and got it ready for the other guys kebab. Since he hasnt started cutting the chicken kebab yet I asked if I could try a little bit of the lamb kebab to see if I would order a lamb kebab instead (again, he hasnt started working on my food yet so it definitely wasnt too late to ask). He just respomded with a short no you cant in a rude tone, not even looking at me.
I was slightely surprised and explained him briefly (i usually dont eat lamb, would order a lamb kebab if i like it, i would be happy to pay for the piece i try...). Again he said something like we dont do that and really just walked away. I finally ordered a chicken kebab.
The kebab itself was very tasty eventhough i had to eat it off the tissue because it fell apart several times and for 18 AUD I was also surprised to get such a small kebab. I didnt complain about the size because I was pretty sure what response I would have been given . Also I was surprized he just added all the vegetables without me asking, so I found myself picking out the onions which is not too bad (and yes i could have said something while he was adding the veggies but i didnt see him doing that since i dont stare at him working for minutes)
I was a bit upset but thought maybe its because i asked about a small lamb piece to try, so I pulled myself together, smiled, said thank you and goodbye, Im not even sure if he responded eventhough he clearly heared that while looking at me.
Honestly, this whole experience was questionable. I really dont get why Im the first person mentioning this bad service in the reviews. In case i did upset him with the lamb question im sorry about that but even before I asked about that his hospitality/service was not good. Whatever reasons it were, business owners nowadays need to keep professional. If he does that to other people as well, his business wont survive for long. What a bummer since the (small and expensive) kebab itself is tasty. Because of the good taste i cant...

This my second review update 22/7/22
Lambs …After a long flight from Brisbane, I caught the 10pm bus to the city for my pre-midnight feed
Lambs has always had a nostalgic place in my heart. I remember the first time my dad took me here. “When I was in Uni, it used to be $12”. The price has obviously changed since then but the taste hasnt. The zesty Yoghurt and salad to remix the heaviness of eat cut of heaven. The first bite just envelopes your mouth with a meaty, smokey charcoal aroma. With a perfect ratio of fattiness and meat in the first bite. It was a perfect combination of charred and crispiness from the spit, and enough flavour to entertain the next several bites without the fattiness being too repetitive.
Whilst there was some chaos among the ordering and wondering if the person in front of me had ordered, it all fell together after I was ushered by one of the customers that had ordered. Although. Interior decor can be considered quite dated, it just fed into the nostalgic vibe that I was looking for. While waiting for my food to arrive I read through some of the reviews as I wanted to see if I could share the delight that we call Lambs. It was quite disappointing to see some of the feedback with poor levels of satisfaction. “Oh it just fell apart and was hard to eat”.. “oh there wasnt enough flavour..” blah blah..
My experience when eating my double meat Souv was an experience id compare to undressing a beautiful woman. Starting from the top and working my way around her body slowly unravelling her dress. Trying not to be too hasty so its contents dont fall out of the wrapper, and also not being too casual and slow such that all the caramelise fats start to solidify and harden leaving a waxy mouth feel.
Overall, definitely would have loved to enjoy this with some of my friends, however enjoying this by my self wasnt a horrible experience either. It really elevated my concentration in being able to enjoy every uneven cut of lamb, to each crisp cut onion. The dopamine high after trying to finish the double was through the roof. Im so happy that an icon like this still...
Read moreReally disappointing experience. I do not recommend this store at all! Not wheelchair accessible. Sat and watched a customer in a wheelchair struggle to enter his (owner I assume) store ( high step on all 3 entry points!), whilst he sat there drinking feet away. Then he even had the ordasity to huff because his old and sticky chair was accidentally moved in the difficulty. When we asked for the menu his reply was “I am the menu”! We Should have known better and left however, this place was supposed to be an institution back in the day some 20 years ago, and so even though it looks old and hasn’t been cleaned or dusted in the past 10 years, we thought maybe he just has bad manners, and poor customer service skills. Sadly, this was not the case. We ordered an open plate with chicken and lamb. The meat had zero flavour, it was over cooked… well simply burnt on some pieces. Worst souvlaki meat we have ever eaten! Other than that you got a small bowl of pita small triangle pieces. The tzatziki was slapped on another plate. And the meat was put with some lettuce 3 little slices of tomato and a few slices of onion! Needless to say we didn’t finish the plate (this never happens!). The best was yet to come when we went to pay and he told us it was $40!! When it was explained to him about how bad the meat was he was rude and dismissive… simply couldn’t care less! I really wouldn’t recommend this place it was a very poor experience in every...
