A young restaurant. Service was poor at best. The staff were rude (perhaps because we weren't of the same nationality or because we are LGBTQI+) and pushy/ They didn't make us feel welcome at all. When we opened the menu, I was impressed, but upon further inspection, half the items were missing. We ordered our meals, only to be informed that these too weren't available. When asking if they could compromise with an exchange for the missing ingredient, the staff rudely informed me that this wasn't possible.
We ordered the pork belly and to be honest I was sceptical given the above experience, but to our surprise it was divine! I enjoyed the 3 sauces that came with it, particularly the sweet and sour sauce which had been made from scratch. Our barramundi was over cooked, dry and disappointing - I don't recommend ordering this item. Our green curry and rice were palatable, but this is an item I can order anywhere.
At this stage, other than for the pork belly, I would not return. In such a competitive cuisine area such as Glen Waverly, I feel that the staff made some crucial mistakes that in the long term will cost them patronage and potentially their business. I certainly wouldn't recommend...
Read moreOn Sunday 21st April 2024 my partner and I felt hungry after gym, so we decided to drive to D’elephant Thai Cuisine in Glen Waverley for lunch. We ordered Pad Satay, 2 Bowls of Jasmine rice and a Thai Milk Tea with less ice and was served by Tarn. She was polite, friendly and welcoming. The chefs in the back prepared our food and Bart delivered the dish to our table. The food was delicious and the drink was excellent too. A huge shout out to Tarn, Bart and the chefs as well. The experience visiting D’elephant’s at Glen Waverley is always good, food comes out quickly, dishes are well presented and the shop is also clean and tidy. No matter how busy they get. They always make time and effort to look after all their customers and check up on them.
Ainslie, Lida, Ashley, Kristy and the chefs always do a great job too. We’ll visit again soon. Highly...
Read moreOne of the many Asian cuisine eating out places on Kingsway in Glen Waverley. This one boasts of Thai street food & seems to be reasonably popular.
We were met by a friendly waitress & ushered into a seating straight away. It wasn't very busy as we got there after the peak lunch hour.
The menu is quite extensive & there are a fair few specials also for lunch.
We ordered the whole fried fish from the a la carte & the spicy mince pork on rice from the lunch specials. The food came to the table pretty quickly. The spicy mince pork was flavoursome & tasty. The fish though turned out to be quite bland & nothing to write home about. There was a tangy gem sauce that it was served with & that provided the flavour for it.
We spent about 50 bucks between the two of us inclusive of the...
