Walking past this restaurant, one could practically taste the duck. The aroma oozing out from this place was amazing! Visited this place on Sunday, and it was not busy. We ordered the braised pork knuckle rice meal and a braised duck rice meal. Both meals came with soup. There is a self-serve corner where one can help themselves with Chinese tea and cutleries. Food was served promptly, and they were well plated. The white vinegar sauce served with the food might look pale, but it was packed with a punch. It went very well with the duck and braised pork. The chilli oil was also another great condiment to have with the meal. Service was good and not rushed. We will definitely come again as we would like to try the other dishes for dinner.

Went to this place for a meal and paid $5, but couldn’t even get a fresh Coke. They don’t serve canned Coke for dine-in—only pour it from big bottles into cups. The first sip tasted like sugary water with no fizz. I took the cup to a staff member, and before I even said anything, she asked if it had gone flat and offered to pour another one. I thought she would open a new bottle, but instead she just grabbed another big bottle that had obviously been opened who knows how many times and poured from that. The second cup was a little better, but still nothing like the taste of a freshly opened Coke. Feels like this place makes most of its profit selling this kind of Coke.

They’re no short of Asian/Chinese restaurants in Melbourne. What Ducklicious bring to the table is Teochew Signature braised flavours, something we haven’t come across in Victoria. We had the hot favourites, the duck and the pork trotters. They were splendid, reminded us of the flavours of home. The white vinegar dip that came with the braised dishes was something new for us and they went surprisingly well. But what stood out for us and got our heads nodding were the pork rice roll and the salt and pepper tofu. Highly recommend. Not much duck and definitely not delicious. I came here with extended family members. 3 out 9 said they liked the food, but the rest of us didn't like it much. We had the corn-fed free range chicken, a couple of duck dishes, the red "rice balls", a few other savory dishes including "hor-fun" rice noodles and sugared taro. The chicken had hardly any meat on it. The duck, chicken and noodle dishes were palatable (barely!) but definitely not tasty. The red rice ball, which is savory with nuts and mushrooms, did not taste right at all..I felt nauseous after that dish. The only ok dish was the barely cooked sweet taro chips (coated in sugar). The one good thing I can say is that the place looks light, bright and freshly renovated, with clean facilities (no paper towel/hand dryer though). I have been to over 60 Chinese restaurants in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong.. regrettably i would say this would be the worst in terms of flavour. Maybe "Chiu-chow" province is just not my thing, but personally, I would not recommend coming here. Will spend $180 somewhere...
