NEVER AGAIN. Poor service and disrespectful :( I went now in the morning, now I understand why this place is always empty, I was the only client there. After paying for my vietnamese coffee and rice paper roll, waiting for a while, I think they forgot my order. The 3 people working there were doing other things (preparing food), but there were rice paper rolls ready, then they just needed to make the coffee... When I went to ask about my order, the guy started to SCREAM with the old woman, then she replied SCREAMING louder. I think it's a family, it was an unpleasant situation with the 2 screaming between each other and I couldn't understand what was going on. I almost left the place without my food but as I already had paid I decided to wait. Then... My coffee came wrong, in a plastic cup with lots of ice, I asked the girl and she told me to wait, then she started to laugh and speak with her mother(?) in her language, I was so disgusted and uncomfortable with the situation, I stayed for more 20 min to finish my food until realise that they wouldn't do anything about it, just laughed about the mistake and they didn't say anything, they kept inside making their food. It's so disrespectful and I don't recommend to anyone. It's cheap, but...

A lovely Vietnamese restaurant in Carlton serving delicious dishes at fairly good prices. Close to Lincoln Square, it stands between RMIT and University of Melbourne, making it a great spot for students and others alike.

Simply impressed by the food. So, I ordered the Chicken Laksa Soup Noodles (about $16 or so). It was slightly different from what I am used to, but was nonetheless amazing. The dish was hot, flavourful and just the right quantity to satisfy my lunch hunger.
#2 I had the Hokkien Mee Noodles with fish cakes and prawns. It was quite good!
#3 I had the Regular Beef Pho ($15.90) and my friend had Curry Beef on Rice ($15.90). Both were excellent!
#4 The Curry Beef on Rice ($15.90) was phenomenal! Soft, juicy pieces dripping with falvours with 4 stalks of bokchoy tasted awesome!
👍🏼🔆

Read moreBeing near the University of Melbourne, it offers Japanese, Korean, and Southeast Asian (especially Vietnam/Singapore/Malaysia) cuisine for a $9-20 price range that would suit most students’ budgets. Vietnamese banh mi were $9-12. I was impressed by the range on the menu.
I ordered the lemongrass chicken with fried rice. The chicken was delicious and well-flavoured. The rice as well was tasty, and the portion was too big for me — I got a takeaway container for my leftover rice for an extra $0.30 charge. That said my appetite is small so it’s probably a good portion size for most adults.
The staff was friendly and made conversation despite a slight language barrier. :)...
