Easy Peasy is one of Richmond’s true dining gems — a modern Japanese restaurant that combines playful energy with seriously good food. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is buzzing: colourful, lively, and welcoming, with a casual vibe that makes it just as good for a fun night out with friends as it is for a special dinner.

The food is outstanding. The menu takes Japanese flavours and reimagines them in a creative, contemporary way, without losing the heart of what makes the cuisine so special. The yakitori skewers are perfectly grilled and packed with flavour, the sushi and sashimi are always fresh and beautifully presented, and the larger share plates are bold, exciting, and designed for the table. Every dish feels thoughtful and balanced — nothing is an afterthought.

The drinks list is another highlight. The sake selection is excellent, and the cocktails are some of the most inventive in Richmond — light, refreshing, and perfectly matched to the food. It’s clear that just as much care has gone into the drinks menu as the food itself.

Service is consistently warm and upbeat. The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and genuinely enthusiastic, always happy to recommend dishes or explain pairings. Even when it’s busy (and it often is), everything runs smoothly and you always feel looked after.

What makes Easy Peasy special is that it doesn’t try to be overly serious or intimidating. It’s fun, approachable, and unpretentious, while still delivering food and drinks that are top quality. Every visit feels like a celebration, and it’s the kind of place you look forward to coming back to.

For anyone in Richmond looking for modern Japanese with personality, Easy Peasy is an absolute must. Delicious food, inventive drinks, and a lively atmosphere — it’s one of those restaurants that just gets...

Eazy Peazy is one of those restaurants that makes dining out feel effortless – fun, stylish, and packed with incredible food. The space itself is modern and buzzing with energy, yet still has that warm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. It’s perfect for date night, a catch-up with friends, or even a casual solo dinner at the bar.

The menu is all about Japanese flavours with a contemporary twist, and every dish we tried was outstanding. The karaage chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside, served with a sauce that added the right amount of zing. The sashimi was fresh and beautifully presented, with slices that melted in the mouth. The yakitori skewers were smoky, tender, and full of flavour – easily some of the best I’ve had in Melbourne.

For mains, the miso salmon was a standout – rich, flaky, and perfectly balanced with its accompaniments. We also loved the Japanese-style cauliflower, which was unexpectedly one of the highlights of the meal. The menu is designed for sharing, and it really works – you get to enjoy a wide variety of flavours without feeling overwhelmed.

The drinks list is equally impressive. A great range of sake, Japanese beers, and cocktails that feel creative but not fussy. The yuzu spritz was refreshing and paired perfectly with the lighter dishes.

Service was spot on – attentive, knowledgeable, and upbeat. Even though the place was packed, staff kept everything running smoothly and made sure we always had what we needed.

Eazy Peazy lives up to its name – a fun, easygoing dining experience with food that’s anything but ordinary. A must-visit in Richmond if you love...

REVIEW: Found the food at Eazy Peazy good but not amazing. Similar to the sentiments I read from another review. Critical notes: Braised pork doughnuts were meaty but didn't compare to Dexter's in Preston. Dexter's meat doughnuts are far superior as the meat juices permeate the bun, making it still moist and flavourful. Mushroom doughnuts didn't have the subtle, earthy umami taste I was looking for. It tasted closer to bold boiled mushrooms, which I did not enjoy. Yuzu rice had the citrusy hits for the first few bites from the top. Dig a little deeper, and it seemed to just be fluffy white rice. Found a pin bone in the salmon filler (pictured).

However, there were some really good moments. Loved the subtle nutty sesame oil with the edamame, and the Wagyu yakitori was delicious. High-quality meat means a hearty warm meat flavour, with the marbled fat providing umami moisture with every bite. Wonderfully delicious!

The service was really friendly. Attentive and quick with picking up empty plates, I appreciated the efficiency. Atmosphere is minimalistic, neutrals with a textured wall that adds dimension. You can't go wrong with Eazy Peazy for...

posting this a few months late as I completely forgot to post about it! We dined here after plans in Richmond and found it very easy to walk in without a booking midweek! We tried a good range of the menu and I’ll share the hits and misses I found! What I’d reorder: ⭐️ Braised Pork Doughnuts (2pcs), Furikake Spice, Wasabi Mayonnaise: these were amazing and remind me of the dexter donuts but Japanese style- YUM ⭐️ MB9+ Wagyu Beef, Truffle Mayonnaise: like butter, bloody insanely good ⭐️ Aburi Salmon, Tobiko, Shichimi, Lemon: super yummy and perfectly cooked! ⭐️ Nama Panko Crusted Chicken, Japanese Curry, Steamed Rice (special): a great version of a katsu curry, the chicken was so crispy and delicious What I might reorder: ⭐️ Tasmanian Salmon Fillet, Saikyo Miso, Yuzu Rice, Pickles- a healthy meal but nothing too exciting to justify the $38 price tag ⭐️ Ezpz Cauliflower “Charcoals”, Galbi Glaze, Ginger, Chives- I meant to order the chicken but this was something completely different! Really innovative, maybe a bit too sweet for my liking but still good! ⭐️ Edamame: a classic What I personally wouldn’t reorder: ⭐️ Char Grilled Eye Fillet Tataki, Yuzu Mayonnaise, Mandarin Kosho: just found it not as exciting as the other dishes ⭐️ Hibachi Broccolini, Saikyo Miso, Lemon- could have done with some charring to increase the flavour- not outstanding Service was very attentive and I loved the open kitchen that you can watch everything be prepared! If I was in the area I may go back for the above dishes I enjoyed!

🍢 Skewer Platter (Happy Hour Special) 🥦 Charcoal Cauliflower 🐷 Pork Doughnut Eazy Peazy is a modern Japanese restaurant located on Swan Street Richmond. It takes strong influence from Japan, serving a menu of dishes designed to share and centred around their hibachi grill. 🇯🇵 Being near the MCG and other stadiums, it can make the perfect pre-show dinner spot. They run Game Day specials as well as Happy Hour deals from 5-6pm daily where you can enjoy $10 drink specials, $5 snack options and a 9 piece skewer platter for $49. We weren’t provided these specials menus until we asked. 🤔 Being on a tight timeframe we decided on a light dinner, opting for the Happy Hour skewer platter. Most of the options are chicken or veg, with beef and seafood being additional cost. We chose the chicken thigh, meatballs and wings, corn and zucchini. Our favourite were the wings which were smokey and crispy. The rest lacked any flavour and the portions were very small. Additionally we ordered the Charcoal Cauliflower, which again lacked flavour and I just didn’t see the point of the black coating. The Pork Doughnuts were interesting, the filling was nice however I personally don’t like furikake seasoning and it was covered in it. It was completely packed on a Saturday so I highly recommend making a booking. Although the food was a miss for us on this occasion, they did have a good handle on the cocktails. Highly recommend the Shiro Usagi with marshmallows! 🍸 ⭐️ 2.5/5 💸 $$
