🍝👍🏽
I recently had the pleasure of ordering the Bolognese Della Nonna with Pappardelle from Etto in South Melbourne, and I have to say, this meal completely exceeded my expectations! DoorDash was running a 50% discount offer and having never ordered from an Etto restaurant before, I went ahead and ordered some pasta🍝.
🤤🍖
From the first bite to the last, it was an unforgettable experience. The pappardelle was perfectly cooked—thick, wide, and had just the right amount of chew, allowing it to hold the robust, hearty Bolognese sauce beautifully. Their Bolognese sauce is one of the most popular ones, which is a classic slow cooked ragù, made in small batches in their Etto kitchen, and it showed. Each bite was a reminder of how well-executed a traditional Italian dish can be when made with care. 👌
The Bolognese sauce was rich and full of flavor, clearly slow-cooked to perfection. The depth of flavor was incredible—each spoonful had a perfect blend of savory beef, ripe tomatoes, and aromatic herbs. You can tell that a lot of thought and tradition went into crafting this sauce, as it had that unmistakable home-cooked taste that’s hard to find in most restaurants. It felt like I was eating a dish that could’ve come straight from an Italian grandmother’s kitchen! 👵🇮🇹
I opted for the large size and was thrilled with how generous the portion was. The amount of sauce was perfectly balanced with the pasta, and there was no skimping on ingredients. This is the kind of meal that leaves you feeling completely satisfied without being overly heavy. I even had a bit left over for lunch the next day, and it tasted just as good reheated! 🍽️
The delivery process was smooth and seamless as well. 🚚 The food arrived promptly, still warm and freshly prepared. Etto clearly put a lot of care into packaging the meal properly. The containers were sturdy and sealed tightly, so there was no spilling or leaking during transit. This attention to detail made the experience even better. Plus, it arrived right on time, which is always a huge plus when you’re eagerly waiting for dinner! ⏰💨 There were also instructions on how to re-heat pizza and pasta!
One thing I really appreciate about Etto is their consistency in quality. Every element of the meal felt thoughtfully prepared. Whether it’s the quality of the ingredients or the careful execution, you can tell that Etto takes great pride in their food. The flavors were authentic and comforting, transporting me straight to Italy from my living room. 🇮🇹❤️
💯🔥
If you’re a fan of Italian cuisine or just looking for a reliably delicious meal, I highly recommend giving Etto a try. Whether you’re craving pasta, hearty sauces, or just need a comforting meal after a long day, this place truly delivers. 🍝 I’m looking forward to ordering from them again soon, especially to explore more of their menu. The Bolognese Della Nonna was outstanding, and I have no doubt the rest of their offerings are just as impressive! 🌟
All in all, this was a standout meal and delivery experience. The food arrived in perfect condition, and the flavors were absolutely spot on. I’ll definitely be ordering again soon—Etto is now my go-to spot for Italian takeout in South...
Read moreI've enjoyed my dining experiences at Etto Pasta Bar. I've eaten there a number of times over a few months. I've had Spaghetti Bolognaise, Wagyu Beef meatballs plus the $9 Pasta with Cheese Sauce. They were all really yummy. I especially enjoyed the Wagyu Beef Meatballs. They were great. Every time, my meal has arrived quickly. The meals were nourishing and filling. The staff were friendly. I went there by myself eating inside at Off peak Times. A number of customers ordered take away and sounded like regular customers. I suspect that it was probably best suited to groups of 1-4 people if eating inside. Etto Pasta Bar offers value for money and happy to keep going there. I live locally and its a great spot to People Watch on Clarendon St.
I have deducted one star because a Five Star Rating means a business goes way over and beyond over what my expectations are. A number of friends use Mobility Aids such as Wheel Chairs so a Five Star Business needs to Accessible to my friends in their customers service, space to move, payment methods, bathroom facilities, parking so they are comfortable. Etto Bar is on a main road with limited available space. Parking around South Melbourne usually presents challenges the flip side is it is well served by...
Read moreThis is solely based on my mum’s experience at Etto during the $5 World Pasta Day. She arrived just before midday on Friday & there was already a queue. So she lined up & waited for her turn to order & was served by a female staff with an undercut/sidecut. No drama there. Mum later returned to Etto just before 5pm, not a huge queue but waited a bit still. When she got to the front, an Asian male was about to take her order, but was interrupted by the female with the undercut who had served mum earlier during the day. The female had whispered quietly to the male staff & mum knew she was talking about her. Lo & behold, the male staff denied mum’s request to order & simply uttered “You can’t order as you were here earlier today.” All mum could do was apologise & left. Surely South Melbourne locals had probably tried to order a second time & I sincerely hope they were also denied service, & not just my mum due to being an Asian in her 70’s. We’ve been regulars at Etto South Melbourne since its inception, & had frequented the St.James Place branch many, many moons ago - the truffle mushroom gnocchi was absolutely moreish. However, due to mum’s recent experience, I’d rather forfeit the credit on my Etto account than return. Thank-you for the pasta...
