THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE RESTAURANT:
location is a little outside of Melbourne CBD, but in a way, worth the travel. I would recommend public transport, tram No. 12 catch from southern cross station. Stops right on the for step of the Hotel.
And cross the street to get back into town if needed.
A bit of parking around, make sure you check the signs to avoid parking fines.
The recently renovated hotel offers a layered Asian luxury feel. A lot of beautiful objects, and rich chocolate timber hues in the joinery.
The service was exceptional and attentive. The girl we had (forgot her name sorry) was helpful and carefully explained the dishes to our party and makes suggestions for appetiser and when food could be brought out so that we could graze and continue with our conversation.
Unfortunately the highly anticipated Sky Bar Lounge was not yet open to the public. And as a note, the menu photographed is the soft opening menu for feedback. So the menu may change.
Reasonably priced, and great renovation. Definitely will go back and may even take advantage of the round table private dining area for a special occasion.
I highly recommend the spring rolls and fried dumplings for a...
Read moreSuperlative customer service, perfect location and good value for money. This is a newly renovated boutique hotel with a dozen rooms over 2 floors sandwiched between a restaurant and rooftop Skybar. Rooms are generous in their space with windows overlooking York & Clarendon streets. Beds are king-size & very comfortable. There is a separate kitchenette with a kettle, microwave and small fridge. The kitchenette also has a table and 2 stools. Bathroom was very spacious as well with a large shower. The manager, Quoi, is the embodiment of excellent customer service. He ensured any requests and questions were answered quickly. He even came by as we were leaving the room to say goodbye. The hotel has adopted a touchless registration and checkout process which is handy; however you will need a phone. We liked that we could easily walk into the city centre, along the river or to the South Melbourne Market. Great restaurants within minutes of the hotel. Please note that the restaurant and Skybar are being renovated over the next months. We would...
Read moreHotel review: Loved the location in South Melbourne though a long walk to the CBD/other areas but nearby tram stops make it easily accessible. The whole process was self check in and we never saw any staff which was unnerving. The rooftop bar wasn't open during our stay in October. Room was large and generally fine except for the layer of dust on every surface. Seemed like the room hadn't been used for a while. It didn't feel the safest place because firstly there were no staff members around and secondly, we were woken at around 5am one night by someone trying to get into our room. Now I'm not sure if they were another guest who got confused about their room (it didn't sound like they were trying a key card) or whether it was someone who'd entered the hotel and was trying to break into rooms. We screamed and they went away but I didn't feel comfortable sleeping there afterwards and we had to sleep with a chair jammed under the handle for the remaining nights. I wouldn't stay there as a solo female due to the lack of anyone around and...
