Ferguson Plarre's Bakehouse - Greensborough — Restaurant in Melbourne

I purchased twice from Ferguson’s already this week (cupcakes for a birthday) which I ordered over the phone on Tuesday 17/9. Which I collected on Wednesday. On the same day over the phone I ordered a birthday cake to be picked up today 21/9 which I was told was $27.50. I collected the birthday cake today which was a gluten free truffle cake & was told it was $36.20. I told the sales assistant I had been quoted $27.50 over the phone. She said I had been quoted on an orange cake & the person over the phone had made a mistake. When I asked if I could have the truffle cake for the price I had been quoted as I understood a mistake had been made, she asked the manager & the manager refused. I stood my ground & explained that this was an error on the part of Ferguson’s staff & I think they should honour what was quoted, but they refused. I’m really upset about this. I have been twice to Ferguson’s this week & spent money with them. It’s not even the extra $$ That I’ve been charged, that’s important to me. It’s the principle & customer service ethics. I am in business myself & if I misquote a price I stick by my word & honour that. I normally go to another bakery for all my family birthday cakes but wanted to try Ferguson’s this time. You have lost me as a customer Ferguson’s. This was my first time & this will be my last. Very disappointing & very poor customer service. The manager will never admit or apologise for their own mistakes. Would rather berate the customers on her high horse. Time to hang up the shoes if that’s your work ethic, not fit to be in charge of staff. Teaching them poor business skills and poor life skills.
