Certainly! Here’s a restaurant review focusing on a seafood hotpot experience at Fishing Season:⸻Fishing Season Seafood Hotpot: A Delightful Oceanic Feast on Monday , I had the pleasure of dining at Fishing Season, a restaurant renowned for its seafood hotpot. Located in the heart of the city, this establishment promises a unique and fresh culinary experience that seafood lovers will truly appreciate. The ambiance at Fishing Season is both modern and inviting. As soon as we entered, the warm lighting and nautical-themed decor set the perfect tone for our seafood feast. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and guided us to our table, which was elegantly set up for a hotpot experience. The highlight of our visit was, of course, the seafood hotpot. The menu boasted a variety of fresh seafood options, all sourced directly from the coast. We opted for the deluxe seafood platter, which included an impressive selection of prawns, scallops, squid, clams, and several types of fish. Each item was impeccably fresh, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality. Our server helped us select a broth that would complement the delicate flavors of the seafood. We chose the spicy Szechuan broth, which added a perfect kick without overpowering the natural sweetness of the seafood. As we cooked each piece, the aroma was intoxicating, making it hard to wait before diving in.The prawns were plump and juicy, bursting with flavor with every bite. The scallops were tender and sweet, melting in our mouths. The squid was perfectly cooked, offering a pleasant, chewy texture that paired well with the spicy broth. The clams and fish were equally delightful, each contributing to the rich, savory flavor of the hotpot. What set Fishing Season apart was not just the quality of the seafood, but also the attention to detail. The dipping sauces provided were an excellent accompaniment, enhancing the flavors without overwhelming them. The staff was attentive, ensuring that our hotpot experience was seamless and enjoyable. In addition to the seafood hotpot, we sampled a few side dishes, including the crispy fried squid and the fresh seaweed salad. Both were excellent, offering a nice contrast to the hotpot and rounding out the meal perfectly.Overall, Fishing Season exceeded my expectations. The combination of fresh, high-quality seafood, a flavorful broth, and excellent service made for an unforgettable dining experience. If you're a seafood enthusiast or simply looking for a unique and delicious meal, I highly recommend giving Fishing Season's seafood hotpot a try. You won't be disappointed.⸻This review captures the essence of a seafood hotpot experience at Fishing Season, highlighting the freshness of the seafood, the flavorful broths, and the overall...

My friends and I went to Fishing Season in hopes of having the experience of catching a fish for our meal. However, upon arrival, the manager stated that we couldn't catch the fish and could only order the CNY set menu that they had. He even added on saying that we should have looked at the T&C of their CNY set menu that was on their entrance before entering...

First and foremost, we booked our table through a website that never once mentioned about the CNY set menu or that there were fishing restrictions. The website even prompted me with the 'House Rules' which mentions catching a fish? Also, who would look at the entrance door at the CNY set menu once they've booked a table already? Moreover, the manager even sent a text prior to our arrival to confirm our reservation and once again, it never mentioned anything about the CNY set menu nor the fishing restrictions.

What I found more ridiculous is that after we ordered the CNY set menu, the table next to us, which consisted of a young adult with his/her parents, were allowed to order the restaurant's usual menu selection but NOT us? They were also initially unaware of the CNY set menu like us but the manager eventually allowed them to order from the usual menu. Not sure if it's because we all looked young so the manager decided to take advantage of us by adamantly telling us that we could only order the CNY set menu.

The manager's attitude towards us totally changed after our order. He suddenly became more hospitable than before.. The manager also quickly took the menu and didn't ask us about the soup selection we wanted. After the order arrived, we asked him about the soup base and he said we already ordered the original. Then, we all said we haven't actually ordered, only then he apologised and said that he could change it for us. But we decided not to change since the order was already at our table.

After leaving the restaurant, we also realised that they did not serve us prawns which was on the menu?

My advice for anyone who decides to eat here is to check properly on whether any set menus will be served on that day. The food was overall quite bland. The only thing I have to admit about this place is that the fish...

Saw this place on Instagram reels and decided to give it a try. First and never again. The whole experience was not as satisfying as it should be. First, we weren’t told that whole dinner was only 100 minutes until when we were seated down. The catching fish part was a fun experience, however the net was a little bit heavy, so it took longer time to catch the fish like another 10-15minutes and with ordering which setback the time to another 10 minutes. Roughly 20 minutes time was already wasted and left with 80 minutes of dining time.

4 of us are slow eater and we felt that the whole experience was like eating in a rush as we had to catch the train or for work. We get to choose two types of fish, a barramundi with 0 cost or Murray for extra $10. On the day, barramundi was out of stock, and we were forced to have Murray with an additional $10. Not only that, but the Murray fillet costs another $10 which was a total of $20 extra unwillingly.

The taste of the original soup was very bland as we were drinking water. The staff was cooking in a rush too and not even smiling at all. What makes us furious is that we have two fishes for the Set for 4 business class and no one told us about that. We ordered extra meat because we thought might not be enough for 4 people. The fish was cooked for the last 10 minutes, and we are expecting to finish it in 10minutes. Well, we basically only can have a bite or two of the last fish because we are too full, and we don’t have enough time to even enjoy it. We were told to leave in 10 minutes. Everything was cooked by the staff which is kind of nice since you don’t have to cook it but even so, staff was just rushing to cook everything.

Overall, the whole experience feels like catching a train before the train leaves. Duration for dining time was too short and no one bother to explain about the menu, everything is just a rush from the moment you stepped in. If you want to have a relaxing dinner night, this is not the...

I thoroughly enjoyed the fish and broth at this restaurant. The flavors were delightfully sweet and wholesome, leaving a lasting impression. The unique experience of catching our own fish added an element of excitement, although there was some disappointment when the person assisting us picked the smaller fish from our catch (we caught about 5 in one net). It seemed unfair that we all paid the same price regardless of the size of the fish we caught, as there was a noticeable disparity in sizes. However, the incredible taste and freshness of the fish made up for this inconvenience. We ordered the business class set with extra dishes. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the sides offered at this establishment. With the exception of the scallops, the other dishes were merely average or even underwhelming. The hotpot, thanks to the fish broth, was another highlight of the meal. It showcased the excellent flavors of the broth and added to the overall enjoyment. However, the dessert left much to be desired. It consisted of three small slices of Japanese cake, cut into cubes and drizzled with chocolate sauce, accompanied by a small scoop of ice cream. It wasn’t very visually appealing, and the cake tasted how it looked. In terms of ambiance, the restaurant fell short. The seating arrangements were cramped, with three people squeezed into a table meant for two. The overall atmosphere was disappointing, considering the high price we paid. For a total bill of $414 for three people, I expected a higher level of service (it wasn’t bad, just wasn’t great and staff lacked personality. Didn’t see a single smile besides from the middle aged lady that welcomed us as soon as we walked in) and a more pleasant dining environment. While it was interesting to try something new, I don't foresee myself returning to this establishment.

If you’re looking for a perfect winter dinner in Melbourne CBD, Yuji Seafood Steam Hotpot is a must-try! Conveniently located right across from QV, it’s ideal for post-work catchups or weekend gatherings. The seafood platter was a showstopper — live crab, fresh prawns, scallops, baby abalone — all steamed on the spot to perfection. The stone pot fish was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the broth infused with mushrooms was comforting and rich in umami. Starters like the black pepper wagyu tartare and fish maw in abalone sauce were beautifully balanced — one refreshing, the other nourishing. I was also surprised by how good the handmade fish noodles were — bouncy texture and no overpowering fishiness. For dessert, the peach gum egg custard was light, smooth, and the perfect finish to the meal. Amazing food, lovely ambiance, and friendly service. Honestly felt like a luxurious Shenzhen-style hotpot experience, right in the heart of Melbourne. Will definitely come back!
